The British government's plan to deport migrants to Rwanda is unlawful, the Supreme Court has ruled.
Lord Reed rules that there were substantial grounds to believe that genuine refugees sent to the country could be at risk of being returned to countries from which they have fled.
The home secretary's appealed is therefore dismissed, Lord Reed says.

They're now saying illegal immigrants can't be removed lawfully
How about Burundi?
Funny thing is, the UK Supreme Court was only created in 2009.
Now they have some doddering old fool of a “Lord” with the power to destroy the country.
That said, that hare-brained Rwanda scheme was doomed to fail from the start.
Sending them back to French shores, whence they came? Too hard?
Alex Jones often says: “We need 1776 Worldwide”
Afaik since Brexit France is under no legal obligation to take back any migrants from the UK. Otherwise why would the Brits even bother with that immensely expensive, controversial and apparently illegal Rwanda plan?
The Unite Kingdom has been collapsing ever since Margaret Thatcher stepped down. The nation is very close to being taken over by Muslim Marxist.
Canada is on the same trajectory ever since Brian Mulroney, and you can include the death of the Vatican ever since they appointed that extreme blasphemous, heretic Pope Bergoglio.
And for the same reason.
Note to every freedom loving people on the planet: If we go back to dumb voting machines, we might still be able to vote our way out of this...
Islamists are a tool.
The UK has the same problem we do: It’s now controlled by its Deep State.
The Falklands is very safe.
Oh for God’s sake this is national suicide.
Ship them all to Devon Island.
“Devon Island is the largest uninhabited island in the world by land area. It is located in Baffin Bay and its ground remains frozen for nearly the entire year. The majority of the island is made up of a frozen plateau and it features a series of inlets on its southern coast.”
The Brits need to get rid of their “Supreme Court”. This was something grafted on to the British Government during the Blair regime. It has no history or tradition in Britain and in practice has just meant a bunch of Leftist grandees getting to override the policies of the Tory government they don’t like. Parliament can and should simply abolish it.
You mean since the Tories rejected Enoch Powell for Ted Heath.
Problem is the same people will be counting the votes.
Deportation of Pakis is what is required
Send them to the UK Supreme Court and their families
With that name, yes: but the duties and powers of the court of final appeal were always there under another name before reorganisation.
It was always probable that the Court would rule that the Rwanda scheme is incompatible with the ECHR. (This was a unanimous finding of five judges, by the way; and not, as you imply, by a single judge.)The real question is whether the ECHR should remain incorporated in UK law: and that's a question for Parliament, not the courts.
As for 'doddering old fool', that's a matter of opinion. The compulsory retirement age for judges is 75. Looking at their biographies, 'doddering old fool' is a bit of a stretch:
OK, thanks for the corrections.
As for the (horrible in reality) ECHR, who was it again that was instrumental in creating it in the first place?
If I have any beef with the whole Brexit thing, it’s that the UK was a prime mover in starting the whole sh!t-show the Bussels tyranny has turned into, and then decided what they started sucks, so good-bye and lots of luck to the rest of Europe... instead of helping to tear it down with some of the other parties.
British MPs advance bill on deporting migrants to Rwanda
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Tuesday faced down rebels in his ruling Conservative party by winning a knife-edge parliamentary vote on his latest plans to send migrants to Rwanda.
