If Biden Doesn’t Have the ‘Capacity’ to Do the Job, He Shouldn’t
national review ^ | 11/13/2023 | CHARLES C. W. COOKE

Why is Politico pretending that this wouldn’t lead to a constitutional crisis?

In Politico, Jonathan Martin has authored a long feature titled “Here’s How Biden Can Turn It Around,” which, before it gets into the nitty-gritty of our president’s present political predicament, contains this remarkable passage:

2024 will be an extraordinary election, and it demands extraordinary measures.

That’s in part for reasons Biden refuses to accept: his capacity to do the job. The oldest president in history when he first took the oath, Biden will not be able to govern and campaign in the manner of previous incumbents. He simply does not have the capacity to do it, and his staff doesn’t trust him to even try, as they make clear by blocking him from the press. Biden’s bid will give new meaning to a Rose Garden campaign, and it requires accommodation to that unavoidable fact of life.

I must stop Martin right there. This is not “extraordinary”; it is disqualifying. If, as Martin proposes twice in the space of a single paragraph, Joe Biden lacks the “capacity to do the job” in a manner that allows him to “govern and campaign in the manner of previous incumbents,” then he cannot be the president of the United States. As is his wont, Martin is more focused on the “campaign” part of the equation, but, relative to the “govern” part, that doesn’t matter. If what Martin describes is true — and judging by what we can all see with our own eyes, it clearly is — then the question before us is not whether Joe Biden can win a second term, but how long it will take before he triggers a constitutional crisis.

Maybe instead of so many debates, we should drop one in favor of an “American Gladiators” style obstacle course. If they can’t navigate that, then they need to retire and let someone else have a shot.

If anyone halfway competent other than Kamala were Veep, the Dems would be screaming “25th Amendment” by now.

There's a reason ships are commanded by captains and not committees. And the same principle works for countries.

Biden was never in charge of the WH or the Administration. His staff (possibly with input from Obama) was always in charge.

That’s in part b/c Biden refuses to accept that he’s incapable of doing the job.

Besides, Biden needs to hang on to office b/c Jill wants
to “do a Hillary” and get herself elected......to something.

Then there’s wastrel Hunter.......he was supposed to
replace Beau, but he got sidetracked by whores and cocaine.

The last time the press dealt with any sort of debilitating infirmity was for FDR. Crippled by adolescent polio and on crutches and later wheelchair throughout his many terms.

The press made SURE not to show pictures of him hobbling about or in his wheelchair. Mostly out of propriety, respect, and yes, love.

The situation here is VASTLY different. We have an installed President who babbles, yells, wanders off, craps his pants and needs constant underling direction and prodding. He doesn’t know where he is and half the time he’d fall flat on his face were it not for people around him ‘at the ready.’ The press? They do likewise. They don’t do it out of propriety, respect or love (ugh - who’d love an arrogant, lying senile cretin like that?). They do it out of PARTY LOYALTY - Democrat. Plain and simple.

And they will only cut him loose figuratively when they’re assured there is a candidate scenario (i.e., NOT the Hyena) who can replace him and win with the big cheat.

Biden doesn’t need to campaign. There is no upside.

We’re not stupid.

Certainly, no one is suggesting he ever campaigned in 2020?

Has nothing to do with him winning the election by fraud.

“That’s in part b/c Biden refuses to accept that he’s incapable of doing the job.”

Be assured if Joe was just a regular Joe with dementia, his family would take the car away, supervise him at all times, bring in meals and begin the process of moving him to a care facility. A regular Joe would be combative, refusing to accept the fact he is a danger to himself and others. Yet, POTUS Joe is allowed to make decisions that impact every aspect of this country.

This is not “extraordinary”; it is disqualifying.

Even worse, it means he should immediately step down.

FDRs health was clearly degraded during his last conference at the later part of WWII. The country was clearly behind him until his death in April.

It’s come out that FDR had been battling cancer, and most likely the fatal cerebral hemmorhage was due to the cancer.

And, yet, the country was SHOCKED at his passing.....my contention is because the press hid his problems.
