Maryanne Trump Barry, a Queens native and retired federal judge, died over the weekend from cancer while in hospice care in New York City, the source said. She was 86.
Barry became an Assistant US Attorney in 1974 and was appointed to the US District Court for the District of New Jersey by the late President Ronald Reagan in 1983.
She was appointed to the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia in 1999, by President Bill Clinton.
The eldest child of real-estate mogul Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, Barry graduated from Mount Holyoke College in Hampshire County in South Hadley, Massachusetts, for an undergrad degree and earned a master's in public law and government from Columbia University, according to the Federal Judicial Center.
She later attended law school, earning her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law located in Nassau County in Hempstead on Long Island.
After graduating from Columbia, Barry put her career on hold to raise her son, David Desmond. (David's father is Maryanne's first husband, David Desmond), according to Town&County magazine. After her son entered sixth grade, she enrolled at Hofstra.
The magazine said she worked to stay out of "Donald's" way as he made his way up the family's company ladder.

Prayers for President Trump and family at the loss of his sister.
BTTT
This, from Wikipedia. Also she whelped Trump’s lunatic niece
“In the recordings, Barry said of her brother: “All he wants to do is appeal to his base. He has no principles. None. His goddamned tweeting and lying... oh my God. I’m talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy shit.” She added that her brother did not read books and had someone take the college entrance exam in his place. She said, “It’s the phoniness of it all. It’s the phoniness and this cruelty. Donald is cruel.”[8] In the recordings, Barry also criticized the Trump administration family separation policy and previous bankruptcies of Trump’s businesses, adding, “You can’t trust him.”[8”
Mary Trump, the niece, said in her book “Too Much and Never Enough”, that her Aunt Maryanne called her brother Donald
‘a Clown’ in 2016.
I say, so what?
I have two older sisters. They have called me much worse than ‘a Clown’ over these decades, yet we remain close family.
Older siblings are known for shooting verbal ‘zingers’ at their younger brothers and sisters.
Good riddance
Wow.
Trump is my hero; I say let him grieve over his sister.
Same here. One of my sisters and myself have not spoken in 30 years.
Trump rose to employ thousands and make himself a billionaire many times over in the hardest profession there is and in the most difficult market there is. For this accomplishment, his “lawyer” sister” calls him a clown. The world is full of lawyers but only a handful of developers that were THIS successful for THIS long and only one that became President.
I hope she roasts in hell for calling her own brother, a President of the United States.............a “clown”. It proves that the world is also full of back stabbing sisters!!!
I remember Trump mentioning speaking to her after Rubio said in a debate that Trump inherited millions.
In 2016, Hon Maryanne Trump Barry gave $4 million to Fairfield U, Conn, a Catholic institution, in honor of the university’s president, Fr. Arx. The donation was given to endow the university’s “Center for Ignatian Spirituality.”
“Ignatian spirituality,” similar in most aspects to, but distinct from Jesuit spirituality, is a Catholic spirituality founded on the experiences of the 16th-century Spanish Saint Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order.
The main idea of this form of spirituality comes from Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises, the aim of which is to help one “conquer oneself and to regulate one’s life in such a way that no decision is made under the influence of any inordinate attachment.”
The Exercises are intended to give the person undertaking them a greater degree of freedom from his or her own likes and dislikes, so that their choices are based solely on what they discern God’s will is for them.
Even in the composition of the exercises by Ignatius early in his career, one might find the apostolic thrust of his spirituality in his contemplation on “The Call of the Earthly King” and in his final contemplation with its focus on finding God in all things.
AMEN
That does not read like a quote, it reads like a carefully thought out concoction of Mary Trump, reeling off all the cliches that we have heard throughout Trump’s time in office by the MSM and others with TDS.
She called him one in 2016. He wasn’t president.
she despised Trump.
Kind of a harsh wish to put on a fellow human for calling someone a name.
Actually, I took Maryanne’s remark as a small joke, a playful insult, if you will. Harmless teasing.
I hope things get a little better ‘tween you and your sister.
You both must be stubborn, proud people. I went through something similar myself years ago.
No one can change the past, but sometimes, it lightens the weight on the heart to forgive, move on, and open that door once again, before it’s too late. The “War” can be declared ‘over’ at any time and by either party. Don’t expect instant affection. Give her time to believe the feud has ended from your end, anyway. Sorry to go ‘Dr.Phil’ on you.
I just recall how better I felt after I let go of the fury and focused on the present.

OK. Still his sister; and a reminder of his own mortality. Time to grieve, even if it’s a little insincere.
The cult members cannot abide by their prophet being disrespected. It’s a death penalty offense.
