Another Vinfast article, I know I will try not to post too often on VinFast, but it does provide some welcome balance against the far too-frequent Chinese -made imports news, which in my view represents a big threat to America.

VinFast is building a factory in America, to build these.

😎

Here is VinFast’s newest car, costing just over 20,000 (this is not the real small version, which is still a year out)

Would I buy a Vietcongmobile? No, partly for political reasons but also because I have no interest at all in EVs at this time. but I will say that I’ve seen a few on their electric SUVs on the road around San Francisco, and it’s pretty darned nice looking vehicle.

Vietnam remains a Communist country that has a long way to go to make amends for its atrocities, including the deaths of scores of thousands of Americans. VinFast can go **** itself.

America slips from the age of the Cadillac de Ville, into the age of Communist Trabants.

Next up: Indian Tuk-Tuks.

EV’s are good for only some use cases. It works well if you drive a lot of miles (28K per year in our case), can charge at home, don’t live in a cold climate, and have an ICE vehicle for the times an EV won’t do. But how many people are in that kind of situation that’s good for owning an EV?

I’m not dissing EV’s altogether. I’m just saying the hype is unrealistic. And the govt mandates and incentives are scary.

From 2022...

VinFast receives $1.2 billion in incentives for US manufacturing hub in North Carolina

From last month...

Recipient of largest state subsidy posts $623M loss, most in three years

Guess who.

It’s an EV and EVs suck. They’re impractical at this time for anyone who doesn’t live in a city and isn’t a climate cultist deranged liberal
