"Wearing lifts is weird."

Wearing height-enhancing elevator boots puts one in mind of prominent rock stars in the past, who were said to have stuffed something into their pants during performances, in order to artificially enhance their appeal to certain segments of their audience.

For example, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones was reported to have stuffed a pair of socks into his pants, in order to appear more "well-endowed" to certain members of his concert audiences, as he pranced around on the stage.   (Reference - see, for example, "Mick's trick? Socks in his jocks" in The Sydney Morning Herald.)

The head of the RNC is Trump’s most trusted person since 2017.

She has a funny way of showing it. With friends like her, who needs enemies?

Well you better ask Trump. But she spends a lot of her time going after his critics. She has gone after her own uncle viciously, many time, including recently. She went after Justin Amash when he called for Trump’s impeachment. Whatever policy she follows, you can be sure that’s the way Trump wants it.

And when have you ever been right about Trump? I still remember how you insisted Trump would drop out of the race in 2016 and that he was just running for the publicity.

I was wrong about him dropping out, but I was spot on about how he would do in office, wasn't I?

The funny thing is you claim to be a Trump supporter, but you actually disagree with his actual words. As far as McDaniel, he has only manifested praise of her. Read his own words. And mainly she goes after his critics.

"RNC officials and members pushed back at the idea that they would not hold the debate just because Trump is leading in the polls.

“The reality is 50% of the base is with him – that means there’s another 50% that’s not,” the Republican operative said. “That 50% has to feel like there’s a fair process that played out if they’re going to turn out if Trump is nominated and actually vote for him.”

AAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...enjoy your kabuki theater, Ronlims, the RNC has already promised to use the cattle prods on you after your debate clown show wraps up! LOFL! ZAP ZAP ZAP! SCHADENFREUDE!

"How interesting that prior to DeSantis’ response, the RNC was being blasted on the thread about this. Now there are people here blasting DeSantis claiming he needs to stick by what he signed with the RNC."

I'm blasting DeSantis because:

I think his goal is to gain the nomination and prevent any other R from getting it.

Ya think?

No.

Just because I’m a Trump supporter doesn’t mean I agree with him on everything. Besides, you don’t seem to understand how politics works. Trump has said nice things about a lot of people. He’s said nice things about Xi and Macron, for example, but he still played hardball with them. Same with Mexico’s President. It’s called diplomacy. There are certain people that you have to deal with at the moment. Trump’s not a god. He can’t just make everyone he doesn’t like go away by wishing it so. That means, sometimes you have to make do until circumstances change.

When Trump first ascended to the presidency the RNC and Congress were filled with Republican backstabbers. Trump had to accept that he wasn’t strong enough to get rid of all of them, all at once. That’s why he made efforts to work with the more reasonable members of the swamp, and that was likely the reason he chose Pence to be his running mate. And Trump was able to accomplish things he likely wouldn’t have been able to by taking that approach. Tax reform, ANWAR, support for his SCOTUS picks, were all done with an establishment dominated Republican party. In the mean time, he was able to purge the party the party of Jeff Flake, Paul Ryan, Justin Amash, Ben Sasse, and others. But these things take time.

Now, in the past month we’ve seen Matt Gaetz engineer the removal of Kevin McCarthy. Do you think Trump didn’t have a hand in that? Gaetz himself hints that Trump was involved. But it took time. Trump publicly supported McCarthy and yet was working with Gaetz to have him removed. In fact Trump played a role in getting McCarthy to agree to the initial terms of his speakership - all while publicly supporting him.

The situation with Rona McDaniel is likely similar. Trump supported her publicly when there was no immediate option to replace her. Backing Harmeet Dhillon would have been nothing more than trading one swamp rat for another. But now the landscape is starting to change, and a real opportunity to trade up from Rona is presenting itself. I believe we’ll see that happen, in the coming months, and in time for the 2024 election. Sometimes things have to get to a breaking point for the consensus to support a change. This past election was such a breaking point IMO, and while the results were disappointing in Kentucky, Virginia, and Ohio, they’re a small price to pay if they end up being the impetus for Daniel’s removal.
