I read a bunch of comic books when I was a kid but outgrew them by the time I was about 14.

I will never understand why adults are wanting to see superhero movies based on comic books (unless they are accompanying their children).

Not trying to make myself sound superior here but I have zero interest in Batman, Superman, Spiderman, etc.

My ex is nuts about the MCU movies, has seen every one and many of them multiple times. I don't get it.

There were a few superhero movies I liked, namely the two Guillermo Del Toro “Hellboy” movies, “V for vendetta” and the Sam Raimi “Spider-Man” trilogy.

I have enjoyed several of them (others have been like watching paint dry). Sometimes I like movies for pure escapism, though I admit I have only seen them in theaters with my kids or grandkids. Mostly I have watched them on TV late at night when I can't sleep or while I am reading something else.

Batman is the ultimate vigilante and speaks to the part of us that crave order and justice.

Tony Stark was the ultimate Geek on Steriods and a lot of fun to watch.

Thor and Captain America were eye candy and comedic relief. Hawkeye was a Sigma and quiet/cool.

Let’s be honest here; most people went to see these films for escapism. Epic good versus evil battles. Fantasy, some laughs, and eye candy.

If the actors are just average looking, no eye candy value. Guys are not interested in seeing average looking actresses (unless she is Francis McDormand in Fargo). Women want hot guys, too.

My family saw the entire MCU run. My husband tolerated it.

But once Endgame was released, we were done. I have no interest whatsoever in the latest crop of characters and won’t waste my money on woke trash.

I enjoyed the first couple of Spiderman movies, as that was my favorite childhood comic book. I had all the Marvel comics except for the first three Fantastic Four. I’d ride my bike to the store and buy all dozen or so of the Marvel comics.

Stacks of them remained on shelves in my room at home when I left out later in life. Later, after realizing they had gained considerable value, I found someone hd made off with all of them.

The super hero movies quickly got way too outlandish for my taste....super hero woman tossing an automobile 50 feet at the baddie or some such. No thanks. Super quickly came to mean stupid.
