Pope Francis fires Texan bishop after criticism of reforms
BBC ^

Bishop Strickland is a leading voice in a branch of US Catholicism that is opposed to the Pope's reforms.

His removal comes after Francis spoke of the "backwardness" of some US Catholic church leaders

Bishop Strickland has launched a series of attacks on the Pope's attempts to update the Church's position on social matters and inclusion, including on abortion, transgender rights and same-sex marriage.

In July, he warned that many "basic truths" of Catholic teaching were being challenged, including what he called attempts to "undermine" marriage "as instituted by God" being only between a man and a woman.

He criticised as "disordered" the attempts of those who "reject their undeniable biological God-given identity".

His letter suggested that attempts to change "that which cannot be changed" would lead to an irrevocable schism in the Church. Those seeking change, he warned, "are the true schismatics".

“Pope Francis fires Texan bishop “

“Texan Bishop”, the little leftist punks at the BBC had to put their bias into the headline.

The Pope is sweet and a pal to the LGBTQ+ community radicals and others who want to undermine and split the Church.

When it comes to people who live by the rules and honor the values of the Church, they are discouraged, shunned and eventually kicked out.

Example: Frank Pavone,an American anti-abortion activist who was laicized and is no longer a Catholic priest. He is the national director of Priests for Life.

This is what happens when you tell a Marxist that he’s infallible.

One sure sign that a person is 1) not too bright, and 2) has no real arguments, is to determine whether or not the person claims that following their direction constitutes “advancement or progress”. The claims either are capable of being substantiated or they are not. In the case of the joke currently playing as pope, the claims lie right in the center of the Venn Diagram labelled “totally failed crap”.

This is just one more "in-your-fac" action re basic church principles. One wonders how Catholics in Texas, or even the U.S. will respond. Will they just shuffle on as did other groups in other times and places?

In all fairness, the same could be asked about American patriots who see their culture and government confronted by a soft but aggressive existential threat.

This is the way of tyranny... tyrants always cloak themselves in a mantle of humility while destroying those who oppose them.

I’m currently wrestling with the mental gymnastics of getting a child through first communion classes with why I’m not happy with the church.

Don’t give up if you’re thinking of it. The Church is good, even while those who lead it are bad. Jesus said he’ll be with us until the end of time.

I left the catholic church years ago, and am happy with Calvary Chapel here in San Jose. Solid, Bible-based, God-fearing, God-loving, trying to be as loyal as we can.

My stress levels have gone way, way down!

Bishop Strickland was replaced by a bishop from Austin. I don’t think that will go well with the Catholics in and around Tyler.

Now we know why lightning struck the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica the night Pope Benedict resigned.

Haven't seen much shuffling on in my Catholic circles. I've seen bewilderment, frustration, and anger.

This Pope is atrocious. Just mind-bogglingly terrible at his job, an absolute plague on the Church that we've no doubt earned. But there isn't a clear course of action on what do about that, since he is the supreme legislator.

I like the lightning bolt from heaven solution personally, and if you see shuffling, it may just be people slinking away from the blast radius.

Pope Tooties Fruits was installed with Klaus Schwab’s influence. In 2001, Schwab and was switching tactics and wanted religious leaders included into the WEF. He’s been busy putting his drones in every position of our society.
