Actually we are the ones who can honestly say that. We (most of us older FReepers, especially like me at age 77) remember the closeness of the Norman Rockwell paintings to the everyday life we saw around us.
By the way, my family and our house were photographed and appeared in the Detroit Edison Electric advertising campaign in the 1950s. I was on the floor putting together a 1954 Cadillac model. The pictures were in printed brochures, newspapers, magazines and at a big show like an auto show for housing and building supplies. Live Better Electrically. The illuminated pictures were about ten feet by five feet. Impressed me as a kid. By the way, I hate EVs.
I am shocked, every time, I watch old movies from the 40s-50s even 60s.

Visiting the Rockwell museum in mass was a hilight
