Former President Donald Trump largely blamed Republican Daniel Cameron’s gubernatorial loss in Kentucky to the attorney general’s ties to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), stating that he warned Cameron it would be a “big burden to overcome.”
###
“Daniel Cameron lost because he couldn’t alleviate the stench of Mitch McConnell. I told him early that’s a big burden to overcome,” Trump said.
“McConnell and Romney are Kryptonite for Republican Candidates,” Trump continued. “I moved him up 25 Points, but the McConnell relationship was ‘too much to bear.'”
Trump still recognized GOP victories elsewhere, congratulating Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves for his reelection, stating that he, “on the other hand, surged to a win for Governor in Mississippi after my involvement.”

Bam! and that is true.
White Kentuckians voted for Beshear.
DC is like that....

What does this mean? Trump endorsed McConnell.
Trump might be right, but I wish he would choose his words a little more carefully. Before somebody jumps on me…..
I voted for Donald Trump in 2016, I voted for him in 2020, and God Willing,
I WILL VOTE FOR HIM IN 2024.
Yet he had an opportunity to endorse Kelly Craft, who served as United Nations ambassador in the Trump administration.
Why Cameron?
Just darn it! He was so close with Trump’s help. He must have not been loyal enough.
> What does this mean? Trump endorsed McConnell. <
That was no small, sly insult on Trump’s part. So it means that if and when Trump returns to the White House, McConnell will be less likely to play ball with Trump.
New York Times of March 2023 overtly described Cameron as an “ally” of
McConnell. Cameron formerly worked as an aide of the 81-year-old McConnell.
The Times reported at the time:
Mr. Cameron, a former aide to Mr. McConnell, was expected to cruise to the
nomination on the back of his ties to the powerful Senate minority leader and to Mr. Trump.
Daniel Cameron lost because he had no money and no ground game.
“Yet he had an opportunity to endorse Kelly Craft, who served as United Nations ambassador in the Trump administration.
Why Cameron?”
If you have the stones, why not apply to be on Trump’s staff as an advisor? Seems like he has a little bit on his plate at the moment.
Telescope115 is spot on. Give him a microphone and BLAST his news until it can be heard at Mar D Lago. Trump needs to listen to his advisers and not pick a fight with everyone who crosses him. In politics, he needs to play some lines from his ART OF THE DEAL. No need to turn EVERYONE against yourself just because in some small things you see differently. Mitch DID help Trump get his Supreme Court Nominees through the Senate.
McConnell and the boys are champing at the bit to import more h1-b Indians and 25,000 replacement nurses as ANOTHER gift for Christmas as they did in Dec. 2020.

And against Mitch McConnell IMHO.
I doubt it. McConnel knows he owes his potation to Trump for the last six years. And Trump endorsed him ten months ago.
LOL. Well said.
Perfect response to the RINOs from Mr. Trump
Kentucky has had only a handful of Republican governors in the last 125 years. We’re stuck on stupid.
It's called keeping your friends close and your enemies closer just like Obama did when he named Hillary SOS.
Get on the Trump train or get the tracks and get runover by it.
The idea Trump is some kind of sellout to the establishment when its done everything it can to undermine him and his supporters is absurd.
