Censure is Censorship?

Correct. This motion against Rashida Tlaib is not a censorship thing, or a blow against free speech.
It’s simply a sign of disapproval. No penalty is attached. So it’s no different that telling your cousin at the dinner table to watch his language.
Can you imagine how gross the people of her district must be to elect someone like her?
She is probably being fitted for a Hamas homicide explosive vest.
It’s an attempt to get people to shut up and obey if not you’ll be punished. Whatever happened to “I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”?
Bull sh#t! If that approach is used to define censure, then why do we have laws against slander and defamation? You are not free to say anything in a society based upon the rule of law. Fact is, censure does nothing to her other than to say we are displeased with your position.
She's already in Washington DC.
This was hate speech. I am good with a censure. No one took the mega phone from her. She was free to make an ass out of herself, just like you are doing right now.
If she keeps it up, they should expel her.
Does anyone recall a vote for years now in which we could say 22 Dems broke with the Dem majority bloc?

They didn’t stop her from saying it. All they did was point up that what she said is a bunch of racist antisemitism. There’s no penalty attached so it’s not censorship. And even if there was a penalty it still wouldn’t be.

I wish “censure” meant “deport” in this case.
My question also ... censure carries no more weight than the wimpy ‘strongly worded letter’ used by the diplomats. There are no real, permanent consequences that impact the subject’s life. Will she lose her fedgov pension> Will she get knee-capped? Anything that will remind her to STFU and also warn others to consider their actions.
Islam is the problem - ammo up.
Her comments are being denounced. She is suffering no punishment
