House Censures Rashida Tlaib in 234-188 Vote With 22 Democrats Joining Republicans
The Dan Bongino Show ^ | 11-8-2023 | Dan Bogino

Far-left Rep. Rashida Tlaib was officially censured last night in a 234-188 vote, with 22 Democrats joining Republicans, and four Republicans voting against the censure. Four lawmakers also voted “present.”

Tlaib was censured after she used the anti-Israel slogan “from the river to the sea,” a reference to the desire for Palestine to control the entirety of Israel’s territory from the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. The same leftists accusing Israel of “genocide” came up with some creative interpretations of the slogan in an attempt to sanitize its genocidal intent.

Among those Republicans who voted against the censure was soon-to-be-former Republican Representative Ken Buck, who took to the House floor to condemn the anti-Israel rhetoric of far-left Rep. Rashida Tlaib - only to then direct his anger at those trying to censure her for those comments.

“To compare a modern democracy with a repressive terrorist state is wrong, but it is also wrong for Congress to take this action at a time when we have serious issues that we face," Buck said. "To take an action and take down the words, to strike the words, to censure a fellow member, no matter how incorrect we believe she may be, is wrong.”

While most Democrats refused to censure Tlaib over her utterance of the genocidal slogan, back in 2021 they had no issue censuring Republican Rep. Paul Gosar and removing him from committees after one of Gosar’s staffers posted a video to his Twitter account of a battle scene from a cartoon series where one cartoon character “kills” another character who had a picture of AOC’s face edited over it.

Didn’t MTG introduce a similar resolution a week or so ago that failed?

This is nothing but show. She should be expelled and sent back to Gaza where she belongs.

Exactly. All these years they did nothing now they do “something” and this is it? The GOP is the reason our country has failed. They were elected to stop it and they didn’t.

“Another victory for those supporting censorship.”

How is it censorship? They never said she couldn’t say it. They didn’t try to stop her from spewing her vile racist garbage. They simply imposed consequences for her saying it.

i think MTG wanted to boot her out of Congress. This is a reprimand.

btw, even Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz and Frederica the Hat Head Wilson (both represent heavily Jewish districts in south Florida) voted TO CENSURE TLAIB!

Blabbermouth is Jewish, Frederica is not.

But it is fun to see these Democrat party hacks turn on one of their own...

The HOR is a political body. For now it is all they can do. IMO simply ignoring such vile behavior would be worse.

I could be wrong but I think a vote of censure kicks off an automatic ethics violation investigation. Again, I can’t remember the rules so don’t quote me on that.
