And I’m pretty certain you overestimate the depth of US friendship with Israel. Whatever smiley face the pols put on it for the sake of votes, behind the scenes US-Israeli relations are strained, at best, and have been for decades. We have catered to them ONLY to serve our own interests in the region; treating them as, essentially, a vassal State.
