Israeli actors Guy Nattiv and Gal Gadot have organised a screening of the graphic footage collected from the October 7 Hamas attacks for an audience of prominent Hollywood figures in Los Angeles and New York.AND a more flattering photo...Spearheaded by Nattiv, who directed this year's Golda Meir biopic, the event will show the full 47 minutes of uncensored footage under the title Bearing Witness to the October 7th Massacre.
Nattiv announced the screening in a since-deleted post to Instagram on Sunday.
Speaking about his decision to host the event, Nattiv said: “I’m a humanist, I have Palestinian friends. But when I saw the horrific images from October 7 — it reminded me of my grandfather, who said that during the Holocaust, the world stood by and did nothing when Jews were sent to gas chambers.
"As a filmmaker, I swore that these scenes from October 7 would not be forgotten, and the world would see them.”
Israeli actor and director of Golda Meir biopic 'Golda' will host the screening in collaboration with Gal Gadot.
The harrowing footage, collected by the IDF, was shown to a select group of journalists in Israel on 23 October. Another screening took place for UK journalists in London last week.
The IDF previously had no intention of circulating the footage among the public, out of respect for the victims and their families, it is understood.
However, misinformation and propaganda attempting to dilute or discredit the IDF’s reports on the brutal actions of Hamas terrorists on October 7 compelled Israeli leaders to release the footage.
Around 120 prominent figures in Hollywood been invited to attend the initial screening organised by Gadot and Nattiv, though more screenings may be scheduled, according to YNet.
No filming or phone use will be permitted during the screening.
