The Israel conflict is a Bud Light moment for wokeism - (also Kearse)

There's not a lot of good news coming out of the Gaza crisis, but one ray of light is that the reaction from students and professors in the West has woken up university funders to what exactly they've been funding.

Wokeism started on universities. Gender ideology, Marxism, critical race theory, decolonialism - it all sounds like loopy student nonsense. But the Hamas attacks showed us exactly what theories such as decolonialism mean in practice.

Elite universities have lost hundreds of millions, if not billions, in funding over this, and students have lost job offers. It's a proper Bud Light moment for universities. Hopefully this is the start of the end of wokeism.

“Hopefully this is the start of the end of wokeism.”

Dream on. Elite opinion flows out from the Ivy League.

There is no veto by law firms, and a few donors.

If those law firms try to enforce an exclusion on pro Hamas leftists, they will end up like the firms who were intimidated to dropping Trump as a client after the 2020 election.

The Regime wants pro Palestinian, and the law firms and the donors will comply.

Well, one of the two is the reality. Which one is TBD, because there have been moments that offer epiphany understandings that offer dramatic cultural changes. Is this one of those defining moments? The pendulum swings to its end-point and then reverses its directional swing. Has the swing reached its end-point? Time will tell I guess.

If I were a betting man though, I probably would bet on your guess. Mainly because I believe it will get a lot worse before it gets better, if better is even possible.

keep in mind that a pendulum swings one way then back as far the other way. the farther one side pushes the pendulum, the father the other way it will go. have said for DECADES that I’m not sure which end of the pendulum swing should be of more concern... the far left or the far right. I like somewhere in the middle.

The pendulum swings on its own accord. Events cause it to switch direction. It is not a particular person or even a group of persons. It's really about cultural acceptance that determines the swing direction more than anything else, in my opinion.

When society at large rejects a direction it's because the direction has reached its end-point, tolerance wise.
