Podcast king Joe Rogan may ditch Spotify for another platform — possibly even joining Elon Musk’s X — after his contract expires next year.
The wildly popular host of the “Joe Rogan Experience” — which draws an estimated 11 million listeners per episode — signed an exclusive licensing deal with Spotify that paid him a reported $200 million in 2020.
But with Spotify cutting its ballooning costs as Rogan’s contract comes to end, industry experts said the podcaster is in the driver’s seat. “It’s a situation where you are damned if you do, and you are damned if you don’t,” Arete Research founder Richard Kramer told The Verge.

I tuned into his show like once or twice and quickly became bored and tuned it out.
I’ve never listened to the podcast, but I’ve watched shorter videos of people I find interesting.
At least he’s better than Howard Stern.
It’s not my kind of thing, but he is very successful. If I were he, I wouldn’t rely on X to be functional. I wonder why he doesn’t just sell ads. Then he could put his podcast on all the platforms.

It's long form and you have to listen to the guests who are interesting to you. He has a lot of mma/fight type guests which to me are boring. But he also has a lot of other guests..you need to listen to his last podcast with Elon Musk. Rogan and a bunch of other of his buddies are on the forefront of mocking the woke left and showing people who are not conservatives how crazy these people are.
Mebbe Spotify should not have promised him so much.

I hope Rogan continues on some platform, for no other reason than he angers Gavin Newsom, because his teenage son listens.

That’s how it works. I tune in for those guests who are of interest to me and Rogan is a superb interviewer; he asks the right questions and lets the guests talk without interruption.
Rogan is phenominal with Alpha male viewers. How many decades of late night giggles traditional men have been stuck with fringe for late night hosts.
Joe can host the best at will, and the best want on his program. As an “influencer”, he’s the A Lister.
And, no, I don’t watch him. People tune in for his remarkable guests.
Agreed. He seems to have good common sense but listening to him, I can feel my brain cells atrophying.
