Jeff Poor, the editor-in-chief of Alabama outlet 1819 News, has been the subject of increasing social-media outrage, following the suicide of a pastor and mayor that his publication outed as a crossdresser.

Law enforcement said on Friday evening that F. L. "Bubba" Copeland, the mayor of Smiths Station and pastor at the First Baptist Church of Phenix City, on the state border with Columbus, Georgia, had taken his own life. It followed a slow pursuit by officers attending a welfare check

I don't get the liberal outrage, did Mr. Poor put a gun up to Pastor Buuba's head and make him a transvestite and post pictures on the internet? The answer is no.

I pray for the deceased soul, but it wasn't Mr. Poor's fault.

The editor did absolutely nothing wrong. The pastor knew he was doing wrong himself.

Yes.

The deceased publicly engaged in PUBLIC sexual behavior and got caught. He was also in a position of trust as a teacher of the Bible.

James 3:1
1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

The guy was a twist.

Not someone you'd want as a mayor and definitely not someone who should be leading a Christian flock.

The editor did us a service. This man was seriously misrepresenting himself to his constituents and to his church members. We deserve to know who is “leading” us.

This "Bubba" case is a weird one.

Probably the only time a man looked better in drag than as himself.

Of course, we are not talking a high bar here.

First Baptist Church of Phenix City is affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, a liberal group, and not with the Southern Baptist Convention.

If they were so liberal, why didn’t he come out as a freak to them before? Sounds like they would have accepted it.

Gods Word is not an Old Testament club. And His moral law abides forever.

This is only a dozen miles or so from me.

If my pastor was a T-girl, cross dresser, or sexual pervert I would not go to that church.

People have to right to know.

Oh I read Jesus’ words.

I am not saved by my perfect keeping of any law.

However we are to keep it in faith.

12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law 13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; Romans 2

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” Matthew 5:17

“ So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” Matt 19:17

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:21

And lots more where that came from. Gods law is holy just and good,
Reflects His perfection, and is to be followed.

I thought I was the only one thinking this! RIP to him because he was obviously a tormented soul.
