Former President Trump traded jabs at New York Judge Arthur Engoron as he testified on the stand Monday morning during the non-jury civil trial stemming from New York Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit against him and his businesses in the state.
Kevin Wallace, a lawyer in the New York Attorney General’s Office, began questioning the president during his unprecedented time on the stand — specifically about his statements of financial condition.
Trump said the statements were "not really documents the banks paid much attention to," and Wallace asked how he knew that. The former president said he has been dealing with banks for "50 years and they look at the deals."

Trump is smarter than that, he’s play 4-D chess, us mere mortals can only play 3-D chess at best.
Trump trading jabs with the Judge is like someone telling cops what the law is while drunk before getting arrested, it’s not smart to do either.
That’s why it’s somewhat rare to put a defendant on the witness stand, they often incriminate themselves.
I understand this is a civil trial and could likely get reversed, that takes time and money, Trump is supposedly running for POTUS, appealing a civil judgement is not going help him, don’t make it any worse than it already is.

Read the details of the case. The judge already issued the most damaging rulings before the trial even began. This is basically just the “penalty” phase.

That and in and many jurisdictions, the losing side has to post a bond to stay enforcement pending appeal. So if this whacko judge imposes some looney tunes judgment, which he surely will, Trump is going to have to come up with some serious cash to stay enforcement while the appellate process plays itself out.
Trump has already goaded the judge into making statements that will easily support appeal...
The dumbest part of this is that commercial real estate values change just as fast as any stock traded on the NYSE and for all the same reasons.. Which means about every second everyday. The idea that you can put a fixed number on it is just idiotic fantasy.
Alina Habba is a woman of the year. She would make a great Vice President and demonstrates a lot of Class.
