Former President Barack Obama is coming under scrutiny for his recent remarks on Israel’s war on Hamas, giving moral equivalence to the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks by linking them with Israel’s “occupation” of Palestinian lands.
“What Hamas did was horrific and there’s no justification for it,” Obama said, following that statement immediately by saying, “And what is also true is that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable.”
Obama made the remarks Friday at his Foundation’s “Democracy Forum.” Video excerpts of Obama’s comments were posted Pod Save America’s X page.

The only consistant Palistine position that I can remember is that Israel needs to cease to exist. Hard to have a 2 state solution with that mind set. Now the Israeli position seems to be that Hamas needs to cease to exist. I long ago gave up even thinking about the Israel/Palestine situation seeing it as impossible to resolve so long as each side is governed by religion. Our founders and Kemel Ataturk had the right idea.
I remember when Israel pulled out of Gaza then, the first thing the Palestinians did was destroy all the greenhouses the Israelis had left behind for growing food year round. Anything touched by Israel was poison to them. Stupid self destructive behavior.
