Israel entered its fifth week of war, which has been dubbed "Swords of Iron," on Saturday. The war was sparked on October 7th, when the Hamas terrorist organization launched a surprise attack by land, air, and sea. After a heavy barrage of several thousand rockets, Hamas terrorists invaded Israeli territory, infiltrating military bases and civilian population centers, where they massacred the inhabitants and took others captive. As of Sunday, November 5, over 1,400 Israelis have been killed, about 4,000 were injured, and at least 210 Israelis, including civilians, are in Hamas captivity.

IDF troops are continuing to eliminate terrorists in close-quarter combat and direct aircraft to strike Hamas terrorist infrastructure, weapons depots, observation posts, and command and control centers in the Gaza Strip. Overnight, IDF troops directed aircraft to strike a Hamas military compound containing command and control centers, observation posts, and additional terrorist infrastructure.

During the combined activities of ground, air, and naval forces in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, over 2,500 terror targets have been struck.

I am of the opinion that there are Hezbollah terrorist cells in this country. What if ten of them were to butcher a US grade school and flee to a hospital? After taking the hospital hostage, would we be justified in leveling the hospital, patients and all, to get the terrorists in the basement?

We are Americans. We would figure out a way to minimize loss of innocents and bring Justice to the terrorists. Of course that sounds like Israel. The only ones on the region who think western thought. (Of course they are the ones who originated western thought). You obviously do not remember that Americans on 9/11 took fate in their own hands and saying let’s roll made the sacrifice for the country they loved.

You simply don’t think like an American. As a culture we used to put our country above ourselves and in rare circumstances Americans would sacrifice their lives for the freedoms of others. We are blessed to have a military who brave men and women volunteer for knowing the may have to give their all for their countrymen to not sacrifice for them but for the enduring thought that freedom comes at a great price (Thomas Payne — the tree of liberty from time to time must be watered by the blood of tyrants and patriots).

Thomas Jefferson: our government is based on the just consent of the governed not established by a line of succession but that we the people also make up the government of the people, for the people, by the people.

You would be well to understand exactly what Dr Franklin said “we have given you a republic. Now let us see if you can keep it.

Your statements and what-aboutism clearly shows you don’t understand America. You are not American as our country is not land, but the concept of individual freedom.

This is a fight for Israel’s survival. Israel cannot let the hostages fate be the deciding factor for their war plans. You have to balance the 250 or so hostages to the 9 million Israelis. If terrorists took over a hospital, its not going to cause the fall of our nation.

Israel is rapidly building a lethal alliance of ALL of its neighbors against it. Hamas is not an existential threat to Israel. If Netanyahu and Mossad hadn’t been distracted dicking around in Ukraine while trying to curry favor with Uniparty, DC, 10/7 would’ve been a slaughter of Hamas terrorists BEFORE they got to the Israeli civilians. The existential threat to Israel is the coalition of 200 million of its now enraged and vehemently anti State of Israeli Arab neighbors. 200 to 6, even with two carriers, are very, very long odds.

“The existential threat to Israel is the coalition of 200 million of its now enraged and vehemently anti State of Israeli Arab neighbors.”

If I were to say to you that I want to kill you and all of your family, and if I actually succeeded in killing several of your family, I imagine you’d view me as an ‘existential threat’ and quite possibly take action to stop me.

How many of Israel’s Arab neighbors are now ‘enraged’ and have formed a ‘coalition ‘numbering’ 200 million? Saudi Arabia? Jordan? Lebanon? Egypt? Have any made any kind of threat of military action? If so, I’ve not heard of it. Yes, the ‘Arab street’ is enraged, but the governments of Israel’s neighbors know better.

Hamas needs to sue for peace—unconditional surrender. The aftermath of a Gaza without Hamas can be sorted out later. If the vast majority of Gazans support Hamas and its goal of “from the river to the sea” then perhaps they can be resettled somewhere out of homemade rocket range of Israel. Problem is we know that Jordan, the state set up to be a Palestinian homeland want nothing to do with them. Likewise Egypt.

They have always hated Israel. A country has the right to defend itself, just like we did after 9/11. If the Arab hating countries think Israel can just stand back while 1000 of their citizens were slaughtered in the worst way imaginable, then those Arab countries were not your friends. If Israel does not retaliate, it will be perceived as a sign of weakness, and embolden more terrorism. . Are you a Hamas supporter? If someone punched you, would you just take it with a smile?

Depending upon the composition, iron is either soft or brittle.

I’d prefer the mission to be “Swords of Tempered Steel”.

Greater fine-tuning is possible without leveling the hospital. If you know they’re in the basement, you send in commandos, while quietly evacuating the upper floors. But they’d be smarter than that, and you’d have to take them down ward by ward, room by room, and offing a few patients, nurses and doctors while you’re at it, no matter how hard you tried to avoid it.
