One thing is required though.
You’ll need a short length of wire.
One end goes to the screw on the Faraday cage covering the meter and the other goes under a screw on the OUTSIDE of your main box.
The box is normally grounded, so by connecting the cage to a ground, you complete the shielding.
DANGER! Do not connect to a live wire.
Just an outside screw on the main box.
RE: ground...good point. Also, my father was an electrician and I understand the “live wire” thing. I’ve been bit a few times! LOL.
As far as Duke’s intrusiveness, the whole neighborhood is ticked off at any company coming here to do right-of-way utility work. Duke went thru here last summer moving ground-installed transformers from backyards to front yards. Now, in our front yards every several houses, there are green boxes mounted on a poured pad. Along the main road, there are multiple HUGE green boxes (size of a VW) that look like machine-gun nests. THEN Google fiber came thru, cut foot-deep slots in the friggin road along the concrete curb to install their fiber cable. Refilled the slot with some kind of nasty light gray cementitious grout that made a mess. We already have Spectrum cable and AT&T fiber out here. Ridiculous.
Were talking about posting armed guards...
