It is NOT difficult to carry some sort of laptop case, they have many that look like purses. Maybe put it under the seat. Why leave it in the vehicle in the open?

Also, people in the SF area break into cars that don’t look like there’s anything in them, just to look under the seats and cargo cover now.
Additionally - it probably was in a laptop bag. Any sort of bag or purse or tote is like a car burglar attractant in SF and has been for years.
