Another possible reason is that Iran has acquired an atomic bomb (hopefully not a nuclear bomb) and is building a stockpile. Israel with the USA has decided to take out Iran’s atomic bomb program and their government before they have enough atomic bombs (say around four) to destroy Israel.
Israel let the Hamas terror attack happen so Israel response would create a scenario that results in a war between the USA and Iran. We can take out Iran’s atomic program without going nuclear but Israel could not without using their nukes.
Israel has calculated that allowing a horrible 1000 innocent deaths are better than millions in a nuclear attack.
If this scenario is true, it looks like things are getting out of control with Russia and China (why did they but their warships in the area?) involved in a big way. And what the heck is Turkey up to. It sounds like Erdoğan is talking up war with Israel.
I hope I’m wrong, but it would be a good book plot.
The msm is loaded with excuse after excuse for Israel not to have known what was going on.They have to know that's insane. As previously stated the Mossad and the CIA are just too good at what they do.
Besides Hamas was hiding the assault in plain site!! You had to be brain dead knot to know what they were up to. When your enemy practices setting off explosives 300 yards from your border what else would you possibly think?!!!
I think we all underestimate the fervor of the Jihadis and what the Muslim world is currently doing to enflame the masses against us.

Regardless of what Israel wants, I don’t think even they realize just how fanatic Islam is getting.
Turkey’s lurch to radical Islam is most troubling. They are a NATO country! When I was in Europe for 7 years in the 1990s, I worked with and had many Turkish Air Force friends and they were all reasonable, modern thinking men.
What the Hell happened? It’s as if a hook has been set in their jaws to turn them around back to their old, enflamed hatred of all not Muslim.
