Israel may use a new weapon called “sponge bombs” to seal and block off Hamas tunnels.

The Israel Defense Force could deploy the new handheld devices to negotiate Hamas’ labyrinthine tunnel system –and trap any hidden fighters in them once they launch their long-awaited ground invasion into Gaza, according to reports.

The sponge bombs consist of chemical compounds based around a liquid emulsion.

It can be thrown into a tunnel where it swiftly expands and hardens.

Well someone is breaking open a small part of the “Weapons Locker.” We did too with the blacksnake. But it’s not fully been opened.

Hint: eradicating tunnel networks is just not that hard anymore. I could list at least half a dozen ways, and I’m outdated on current tech.

Only reason restraint is being shown is hostages may (albeit unlikely) still be alive in the tunnels.

That's decent tech. Add some metalic particles to increase overpressure and blast waves.

And that's still old tech for us.

But there still may be hostages in the tunnels, so just obliterating them -- while easy -- is not an option right now.

Do you suppose the muzzies have been putting tampon dispensers in the men’s bathrooms? Should have plenty of inventory there? Actually looks to me tho that the Israelis are doing just fine lighting up those tunnels. Those flame jets shooting out of the vent pipes are barbequeing ragheads just fine.
