Respecting the decision of children and families to not celebrate Halloween and being aware of their decisions are essential for everyone to feel that they belong.
Each day in October, a new LGBT Icon will be featured with a video, bio, bibliography, downloadable images and other resources.

It’s Primero de Mayo.
Based on my own very non-scientific evidence, I would say that Halloween is the most inclusive “holiday” there is. We get about 25 tricks or treaters in my mostly white Oakland neighborhood. At least 75% are African American.
I bet it’s the Christian families this time. Many Christians don’t believe in allowing children fun at Halloween. Sad but that’s true.
There’s the one I knew would say it. Good grief. Right on schedule.
I was in the past a big Starbucks coffee drinker and had my favorite Starbuck store, with a really good manager whom I got to know pretty well.
One year when that store manager was having their annual “give back to the community day” with staff and customers volunteering to be part of it. That year their community project was helping a South Orange Middle School paint the classrooms and hallways.
In the hallway of the building I worked on they were writing a Walt Whitman poem running down the hallway including above all the doors.
I left the project prematurely. They were changing the words of a Whitman poem that mentions guns, so that guns were not mentioned.
Changing classic literature to meet modern political agendas is right out of Orwell’s 1984 in my opinion.
Now to complete their hypocracy they need only to start calling for death to the Jews!
We don’t celebrate either Halloween or LGBT+ month!!!!
Yes they do!
Halloween should be the only “gay/trans” holiday!!!!
They’re not gonna like losing New Year’s Eve. And give ‘em the Oscars. Nobody else cares.
But it is ok to ignore and discriminate against those that do like Halloween and celebrate it. It is all or nothing for the left. You either include everyone, no matter what or you just cancel the whole thing. In this country it is not suppose to work that way. Period.
