I wonder why they would put up a statue of Lee 60 years after the Civil War ended? Was it to intimidate blacks in Charlottesville? Keep them in their place?
Statues of 19th century democrats put up by 20th century democrats, being torn down by 21st century democrats. It would be a farce except for the precedent it sets for the revision of history.
