Charlottesville’s Robert E. Lee statue has met its end, in a 2,250-degree furnace.
The divisive Confederate monument, the focus of the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in 2017, was secretly melted down and will become a new piece of public art.
If some oppressive governmental power invaded your state and those next to you, what would you do? This was about ending slavery, but it was about the North invading the South to most individuals in the South. Slavery should have been dealt with when the constitution was penned. The reason it was not is that the power elites of that day were slave owners. These same power elites today use and abuse the former slave populations and have destroyed their strong families leading to drugs, death and carnage. Never believe a politician. They are liars.
That might be the goal. Erase American history and you erase what makes us who we are as a nation.

The North Won and should have been melted down into to another lincoln for a town square in another midwest town. lincoln was born 1809, 220 birthday is inbound fast.

People should compare their achievements with those of Lee. His education at West Point. His lengthy service in the Union army and in the Mexican War. His selection to be the head of the Union army. His ordering his soldiers not to engage in guerrilla warfare after the surrender. His efforts at reconciliation. His work at Washington and Lee University.
The people behind this would melt a Lincoln statue just as readily - because he was white.
Not taking sides if it was was right or not, just pointing out the way Lee saw it.
