House Speaker Mike Johnson is much less wealthy than other members of Congress. He doesn't trade any stocks and has a home mortgage valued between $250,000 and $500,000. He's made more than $120,000 since 2018 teaching online classes at Liberty University. The new speaker of the House is not as wealthy as most of his colleagues. Watch the LAAP-dog media spin this to suggest that Speaker Johnson is a ripe target for bribery schemes by powerful lobbyists and foreign agents who try to shove cash at him for favors, preying on his meager earnings and high mortgage debt.

“That’s not all that dissimilar from former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who has disclosed a mortgage for his California home valued between $100,000 and $250,000.”
I guess it’s possible in CA, if one has $500+k in ‘equity’ (a little BLM lingo there). But if home is worth $250k or less, it was given to him under suspicious circumstances.

So, he
earned the money from LibertyU.
Headline makes it sound like an illegal campaign contribution.
