This is deep weeds inside baseball, but boy howdy does it tell a story. Representative Matt Gaetz (MAGA, FL) goes through the details of yesterday’s House republican conference assembly as they select a Speaker nominee.
What Gaetz reveals in detail is how Kevin McCarthy has been working the conference to undermine any other Speaker candidate so that McCarthy would be renominated as the only possible alternative. The insight and details are really interesting. This is a must watch.

What I’m wondering is what the Rat pack is now thinking. They were marched into formation to vacate the Speaker. The Republicans just nominated a CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVE! It has to drive the RATs into insane fits that they could have kept a lying grifter in office instead.
The Rats have a lot of experience playing a defeatist risk-averse Republican party. This is new territory for them. They had no game plan other than the usual - sit back and watch the Republicans self-destruct. It didn’t happen this time.

Some of them are paid disrupters who will just keep doing their job. The ignorant ones rarely learn either. Things have sure changed since 1998.

Take everything you hear with a grain of salt, but it looks like we dodged a bullet and may have ended up with a potentially very good Speaker
Credit the multitude of Republican grass roots voters who burned up the phone lines to give their generally die connected and unresponsive Reps enough of an ear full to scare them straight

Well so did the rest of the R’s they made him speaker and when he turned out to be a cuck he was gone. He lost Trump’s support at the same time as Gaetz. It will be interesting to see what Kevin does if Trump gets the nomination.
