Ramzan Kadyrov is the founder of a Chechnya-based MMA promotion called Fight Club Akhmat. If you are one of Kadyrov's "peeps" and also a mixed martial artist, it is in vogue to also be a member of his fight promotion.
Because Kadyrov has given active support to his friend and ally Vladimir Putin's war in the Ukraine, the US State Department forbids any of his business interests from operating in the US. This includes all fighters belonging to his Fight Club Akhmat, of whom there are several in the UFC, including Khamzat Chimaev.
This in fact is why this past Saturday's UFC event took place in a Muhammadan country. Because Dana White was skirting US State Department sanctions forbidding Chimaev (and several other Chechen fighters under contract to the UFC) from fighting professionally in America.
In a UFC interview after his win over Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi this past Saturday night, Chimaev first spoke in English, which the UFC allowed to air:
“Guys you know what’s happening in the world right now. I wasn’t happy (being) in the cage fight this week, and seeing kids dying. Doesn’t matter where ever in the world: Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Palestine, USA. Doesn’t matter.“When kids die it’s hard guys. I love the kids. I have a boy waiting for me there back home he’s only 3 months. If he’s just crying I don’t know how to feel.
“When somebody dies, guys I don’t know what to say. Insh'Allah would be good in the world I hope so. Christian, Muslim, Jew doesn’t matter. Please guys, be together. Let us live in this world. Let us be happy.”
Later he spoke in Chechen, which the UFC didn't dare air, but it got out through MMA sports reporting channels just the same. The "chief" he repeatedly refers to is Muhammadan thug and Putin ally, Ramzan Kadyrov:
“Chief, may Allah be pleased with you, it is not difficult to perform here and fight for you here. If you give me permission, I swear by Allah, I will be the first to go there [to Palestine]. For God’s sake, give me weapons so I can go to Palestine. I swear, I wasn’t raised to fight in shorts. I swore allegiance to our chief and I swear, if he gives me the right, I am the guy who will go and die there. I don’t worry about my own death as much as I worry about [the death of] my Muslim brothers.”
When press questioned UFC president Dana White about Chimaev's statements, he said it wasn't his job to control what comes out of his fighter's mouths.
That apparently even includes when one of his fighters advocates genocide.
And while White didn't allow Chimaev to spew his hate from the UFC's bully pulpit directly, Chimaev's message got through to Ramzan Kadyrov just the same.
If the UFC doesn't get "Bud Lighted" over this then the world owes Anheuser-Busch an apology and restitution.
Isn’t he supposed to be fighting against Ukrainians?
So Go!
It was probably more scripted than a Vince McMahon production, organized through the Kremlin.
Be sure to pack your body bag in your duffel…
Well, the UFC seems to be on a path to ruin.
We’ll see how this shakes out over the next few days and weeks and see if American’s could care less or actually decide they don’t need this BS in their life.
what’s stopping him?
Go for it Slick. I know the Muzzie terrorists will be as glad having you as the Nazis would have been.
I say let this inbred slug into Gaza and then have the SM capture his stupid ass and see how tough he is then
Go! Who’s stopping him?!
