Privacy Notice An Alaska Airlines passenger inside the cockpit attempted to seize control of a plane headed from a Seattle airport to San Francisco on Sunday, the airline said.
A pilot told air traffic controllers a person riding in the cockpit of flight 2059 attempted to turn off the aircraft's engines in flight. An airline's pilots, or pilots at other airlines, will occasionally ride a cockpit "jump seat" when traveling in an official capacity or commuting to another airport.
The passenger, who has not been named, was an off-duty pilot and has been arrested by Port of Portland Police Department, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.

Perp is a 44yo bald white guy named Joseph David Emerson
The guy’s a pilot. In the cockpit. Not a passenger.
Didn’t even have to look.
They don’t want to name the guy because he is a Muslim terrorist.

Hi name is Joseph David Emerson. Sounds real Muslim.
Probably another minority pilot that revered Auburn Calloway’s example.
A lot of misinformation flying around these airlines. First it was an off-duty pilot for Alaska Airlines in a jump seat. Then it was Horizon Airlines. Now this.
The media is generally unreliable.

John Brennan, former head of the CIA, is reported to have converted to islam. Names mean nothing in this new world.
Pilot: Excuse me, Captain. This may seem silly, but can you fly?
Harry Callahan: Nope. Never had a lesson.
Unfortunately too many posters on this thread reacted instead of researched.
Horizon’s a fully owned sub of Alaska. Just like Piedmont is a wholly owned sub of American.
Horizon is Alaska’s regional, short distance airline. Usually fly Dash 8’s. I doubt the SEA/SFO flight was Horizon.
And the article sucks - he apparently tried to “take control” by shutting down the engines.. I guess that is taking control in a very loose sense.
