Libertarian outsider Javier Milei and current Economy Minister Sergio Massa to clash in November second round election battle
Argentines went to the polls Sunday night in the first round of the presidential election which saw iconoclastic libertarian frontrunner Javier Milei face off against center-right former Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich, and current left-wing Minister of Economy Sergio Massa.
While most political observers expected Milei and Massa to face off in a second round, surging anti-establishment rage had led some to at least contemplate the possibility of a first-round Milei knock-out blow.
That scenario failed to materialize, as establishment candidate Sergio Massa overperformed: with 89% of the vote in, Massa led with 36.3%, followed by Milei with 30.2%, while Bullrich trailed in third at 23.8%.

Rigged machines like in Brazil?
A couple days ago, another poster on here said that the “globalist cabal will never let him win.” That prediction seems to have come true.
Nonetheless, I’m still hoping that Milei wins in the November runoff.
As best as I can figure:
Senate shifted further to the left-fascist Peronists. This is because Cambio (conservative) and Libertad (libertarian) split the right-of-center vote.
The Congress, on the other hand, narrowly flipped from Peronist to a right-of-center majority. This is because the Congress is elected by proportional representation within districts, and Cambio and Libertad added together are a majority.
Apparently yes. There are complaints of broken machines or uncounted ballots in hundreds of precincts.
With Massa Argentina is screwed. Actually, if it chooses Massa it will carry on a near-century old tradition.
“That scenario failed to materialize, as establishment candidate Sergio Massa overperformed: with 89% of the vote in, Massa led with 36.3%, followed by Milei with 30.2%, while Bullrich trailed in third at 23.8%.”
The natural qquestion becomes in what direction will the go the Bullrich voters. She is a “Conservative” in the Argentine sense. If, having ranked third, she does not come out in favor of Milei, the Personista Massa could win.
That’s what I was thinking.
