Salinas police have made an arrest in a 10-year-old murder case.
In 2013, 18-year-old Miguel Chavez-Zavala was shot and killed on the bleachers at the baseball field in Closter Park.
On Wednesday, police arrested Pedro Bernal.
During the initial investigation, witnesses reported seeing several people running from the area, but police said they didn't have enough information to make an arrest.
Police did not release information on what new evidence led them to reopen the case.
Well, after 10 years I hope they have solid evidence.
I assume the perp posted something on facebook about the shooting.
Maybe the weapon was used in a recent crime and they matched the balistics?
That's why I never have my DNA checked on Ancestry.com. I want to keep my serial killer options open.

Had to look for where it was.
Well don’t use the cologuard test; it examines your DNA.
All you need is a third or fourth cousin to do it, someone you don’t even know, and they will track you down. It just takes a bit more time and effort. I am a privacy nut, but when I realized that a bunch of my relatives had done it, I decided I might as well. That ship has sailed.
