A Texas teenager tragically collapsed and died at a cross-country meet moments after breaking his personal time record..
Angel Hernandez, a 16-year-old sophomore at Chisholm Trail High School, had just completed a 5K at a district track meet in Haltom City in Tarrant County on Oct. 13 when he collapsed right after crossing the finish line,..
The teen’s concerned friends walked him over to a water fountain where he fell again. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died an hour later.
Brent Brevard, who coached Hernandez at Chisholm Trail High School last year before retiring, said he was the ideal student-athlete.
“He worked hard and cared about his teammates,” he told the outlet.
“But then he also acted right in school and took care of his grades.”
He’s such a great kid, a likable kid, a good student, and it was awful news,” Brevard added.
Friends and family still do not know what caused the teen to collapse after running one of his best races.
...
His karate coach, Ashley Wood, said that she has been comforting his devastated teammates since his death. She said he showed no signs of illness before his collapse.

When I was in high school, I don’t remember any body suddenly dying, except for a car accident or drowning.
At my school of about 2600 students, one basketball player died during a game of “walking pneumonia”.
Tragic but it was happening even before the shot. Try not to pretend otherwise.

I believe that the dempanic “lockdown” screwed up a lot of athletes’ rhythms and they got screwed up and didn’t slowly work their way back into their daily patterns one step at a time. JMO.
Neither do I. A couple of suicides and a hit and run. Never sudden heart attacks. And we were worked hard in PE.
When I was in my 20s, I experienced some weird chest pains. I went to the doctor and he said I probably pulled a muscle. My doctor said heart disease is very rare for someone as young as I was, almost unheard of.
My how times have changed.

Now there is more to a bluejay than any other animal. He has got more different kinds of feeling. Whatever a bluejay feels he can put into language, and not mere commonplace language, but straight out and out book talk, and there is such a command of language. You never saw a bluejay get stuck for a word. He is a vocabularized geyser. Now you must call a jay a bird, and so he is in a measure, because he wears feathers and don’t belong to any church, but otherwise he is just as human nature made him. A bluejay hasn’t any more principle than an ex-congressman, and he will steal, deceive and betray four times out of five; and as for the sacredness of an obligation, you cannot scare him in the detail of principle. He talks the best grammar of all the animals. You may say a cat talks good grammar. Well, a cat does; but you let a cat get excited, you let a cat get at pulling fur with another cat on a shed nights and you will hear grammar. A bluejay is human; he has got all a man’s faculties and a man’s weakness. He likes especially scandal; he knows when he is an ass as well as you do.

Another Covid-19 vaccine fatality?
In 7th grade a student died after running the fields, about a mile. He was the last guy in at 12 minutes or so. I was slow at around 8 minutes as I hated running distance, so I hung with the slackers. His heart had an undiagnosed heart defect. One of the walls of his heart burst. He was literally DRT.
pretty common these days, probably climate change...
Pete Maravich dropped dead after a pickup game because he was born without a left coronary artery, and his right artery had enlarged to compensate, until it burst.
In all my school years (Elem-HS) there was only one death. Car accident. Happened to be a friend.
Just stop. Very, extremly rarely was this heard of before the clot shot. AND when it did happen you found out the kid had some congenital defect no one knew about. These days they just pretend it is a mystery, nothing medical presented as to the cuase.
No underlying causes, and happens way more frequently now. It is absolutely justified to wonder if the clot shot may have contrubuted!
I hope there’s an autopsy to look for any clots or heart abnormalities.

ditto ...
Late 1960s at my Junior High, we had some kid who had a heart attack on the court. Next year, they mandated a physical for kids participating in sports. Does happen.
When I was in junior high football, we had to have a physical and the doctor held my testicles and told me to cough.
My how times have changed.
