Republican infighting in the House of Representatives since the ouster of Speaker Kevin McCarthy two weeks ago isn't so much creating dysfunction as it is exposing dysfunction. Over the past 10 months, strange coalitions have been built and dispersed, candidates have risen and fallen, and private animosities have burst into public view. While the D.C. legacy media press has proven itself incapable of explaining any of the above (see: its description for the "hard right coalition" of Reps. Matt Gaetz, Nancy Mace and Ken Buck), the squabbling has clarified just how cracked up the Republican Party truly is.

They'll be patient. We have too much to lose. Revolutions occur when people are frustrated and have nothing to lose.
Because ousting him was a stupid idea. The GOP need to unanimously back somebody, because the Dems are going to vote against everybody just to keep the comedy going.
I’m sure Hunter’s not too sad the Judiciary Committee is shut down.
My hypothesis is the anti jordonites just want more spending. Kb is an xeceptiin
Fox News. Controlled opposition. Uni Party lite. They like the uni Party Rinos can kiss off. My time money and support only going to America First pstriots. My news viewing One America, Right Side, and on occasion Newsmax.
“Democrats have divisions, but it seems like whenever they really need to, they circle the wagons. My speculation as to why Republicans can’t do the same thing is because they’re not as ideologically committed to advancing conservatism as Democrats are with socialism.”
I think you are right, but also partially wrong.
I think there is more ideological unity on the Left than there is with Conservatives.
For some Conservatives the priority is Libertarian economics. For some Conservatives the priorty is morally cultural together with where that meets law, such as with abortion. With some conservatives the priorty is a strict view of the Constitution and Constitutional limits on government powers, even when those limits may irk some other Conservatives who like “Liberals” want government powers for their Conservative priorties that might not be there. Other Conservatives are very strict on government finances and harsh on deficits even if reductins in some government spending may pinch priorities of some other Conservatives. Then there are Conservatives who may, or may not always agree with the forementioned Conservatives but are also very strong on national defense and its priorities. There are not many Conservatives who could get a 100% rating in all those categrories, while socialists/Leftists go along with any socialist/Leftist “solution”.
In sum, the Democrats are a party more often than a coalition of interests and the GOP is more a coalition of interests more ofthen than a party. In my view.
well said
the status quo is suicidal
and changing course is messy
Thank you Bat-Matt Gaetz and your Cabal Crushing Hulksters.
I think our Founding Fathers would have loved guys like Matt Gaetz. Gridlock means nothing gets done. That’s supposed to be a feature of our system.
Back in the 90’s we had an almost sure Senate Pick-up with Ollie North. The same never North’s ran a third party candidate and lost that seat
” but it is clear he expected Democrats to protect him after doing their bidding for eight months”
Democrats loathed him. And as for saving his hide, there has never been a situation where a congressional minority has crossed over to save the majority’s speaker.
Would Republicans have come to Pelosi’s aid if AOC and her crew had threatened Pelosi’s speakership?
The House RINOS are no different than democRATS. The fact that no legislation is getting passed doesn’t phase me one bit. Putting a RINO in 3rd place of succession is just the same old sh*%. Hoping the MAGA guys stay strong and hold out for a strong leader.
“Hoping the MAGA guys stay strong and hold out for a strong leader.”
Me as well.
