You’ve heard of New York’s ‘gas stove ban’ — new legislation wants to take things even further (Seriously? Further?)

Please liberal New Yorkers, esp. the ones in NYC, when you start freezing to death do NOT move to any red state. The weather is always horrible, we're all racists, and we have shootouts in the street every day because we believe in the Second Amendment. You WILL NOT like it here. Move to another blue state where you'll fit in better and feel more comfortable. May I recommend moving to California, perhaps to a city like San Francisco?

/Do I really need a sarc tag? Freepers should see what I'm doing here...

New York absolutely depends on taxes from Wall Street and Fed.gov to support its progressive bloat and insanity.

If Wall Street crashes, NY State crashes with it. I know everyone will worry about their 401K, but take some comfort in silver linings.

Let me remind everyone that over 57,000 homes were out of power for over 24 hours during the Christmas blizzard of 22 in the city of Buffalo NY alone.

The only thing that kept these families from freezing to death was natural gas.

Let that sink in.

That isn’t ignorance, it is pure out stupidity. You ban the natural actual fuels you have in deference to the unicorn fart fuels you “feel better about”. Is the place run by women?

Oh wait…

If you separated the downstate counties around NY City from the rest of New York, the remainder of the State would vote like Tennessee or Kentucky.

All those fancy chefs that cook for New York’s most privileged are certainly not going to like this...

Demonstrating once again the the immense brilliance of the Framers in creating the Electoral College. Adding a local version to the guarantee of republican government to the states is my go back in time and change the Constitution wish.

I lived in So CALIF for 29 years.

WE were told often HOW TO TURN OFF OUR GAS if an earthquake hit.

STILL CAN DO THAT. Have propane now, but can turn it off with 90 degree turn of wrench.

About a dozen years ago in lower new york, we were hit with a hurricane. Knocked out electricity for my suburban neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods for a whole week.

Trees and branches were felled which in turn ripped down electrical wires in a few different places on my block alone. It was fall, late October, so it while it wasn’t freezing winter weather just yet, it was very cold indoors and out. But we had a natural gas stove with which we were still able to cook food and heat up our home until the electricity was brought back on.

Also, people in those more rural counties will likely be just fine regardless. Now those in dem run urban hives? Not so much. My primary response to their plight will be schadenfreude.

They want electric use and cost of electric use to skyrocket to where inflation in domestic energy use in New York surpases anywhere in the world.

That is totoally clear when their ideas start from mere theoretical demands to absolute demands with no real cost effective plan for any well enegineered method for getting from the theoretical to the practical. They are 100% willing to put mandates in the laws and let the financial chips fall where they may.

......spot on...! many years ago, when we wisely left Noo Yawk State for the sunny South, we ran into an NYC transplant, whose biggest complaint was....”Geeez..youse can’t even find anywhere to get a good bagel down heah, ya know....”

....stay up north; don’t move south...we rubes still don’t know how to make good bagels, like, ya know...and we all carry guns...sometimes more than one at a time..and we know how to use them, too....!!!

Side bar comment ..... In SW Va 2 years now, out of New Yawk, and I learned how to make genuine, authentic, NYC Jewish deli bagels. I miss the Hudson Valley views and bagels but I am never going back.
