If you look at Israel you see our future in the West.
All we have done over the last few decades is to import the threat to your neighborhood or workplace. To deal with this new threat we stripped away your constitutional rights, but that won’t long term make a difference. These police states like Israel and even the UK (to a large degree even us) still have continuous issues, and security/stability is only assured with a constant expenditure of energy to keep ones boot on the neck of this problem. Lift that boot, and you won’t like what happens next.
Oil and water:
It won’t mix if we shake it really hard. It won’t mix if we look the other way and pretend it has. It won’t mix if we blame ourselves for the lack of mixing. It won’t mix if even if we make nice gestures. No matter what we do, oil and water won’t mix unless you change their basic nature.
Let me ask these rhetorical questions: If their religious and political leaders tell you what they believe very openly. If their doctrine (Koran and Hadith) tells you what they believe and you can read it. If 1,400 years of history shows you what they believe. If opinion polls tell you what the majority believe. If their actions in all places where they achieve a majority (Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, N. Sudan...) shows you what they believe. What makes you think they believe in something else?

They sure do, but I’d like to believe that eventually, their “worldview” will be their downfall.
