THAAD? Terminal High Altitude Area Defense. That radar is a VERY expensive one intended to track targets quite some distance away at very high altitudes. Surely, they aren’t planning on using it and the associated missiles to shoot down impromptu water pipe rockets. So, they’re thinking up against Iran’s missiles.
Not a Navy guy, so I don’t know what is normal coverage globally, so I have to ask - Isn’t the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group being re-directed to join the USS Ford in the Eastern Mediterranean leaving another AO open (unprotected)?
[So, they’re thinking up against Iran’s missiles. (THAAD)]
I would imagine so.
