Are these things EMP-proof?

Could there be two people with the same fingerprint?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Identical twins. Same DNA too.
“The boy was 12 and should have been taught how to handle a firearm.”
Isn’t that the truth! Children by that age have been slowly taught about all other types of equipment. The stove is hot is taught at a very early age and then gradually a child is taught to cook that pizza himself. By age 12 many children are taught how to operate a lawn mower and other tools. But if someone mentions teaching a child the safety rules and proper handling of a firearm, parents freak out.
There would be a lot less accidents if children were taught how to safely handle a gun.
This is one of the reasons I prefer mechanical locks on safes and gun vaults.
Sorry, but neither of these are true.
No.
But they could have enough similar biomarker patterns to fool the verification process. Depends how many unique points they look at.
Awhile ago I was looking to purchase a safe, was at one of the major sporting goods stores and asked that very question. The salesman showed me the 250,000 volt rating and I laughed as since I am near Washington DC if anything happens we will get hit with pulses in the 500K range.
I bought a standard dial-type lock and am very happy.
I would never rely on a fingerprint reader for access to my firearms. The staff that issues CAC cards with the DEERS terminals took 45 minutes to get the 80% match required to reset the PIN on my card. I accidently locked it when having to shuffle 3 different PKI cards to get my work done. The reader software got confused and delivered 3 incorrect PINs to my CAC.
My preference is the 5 button safe with user settable combination. I can open mine reliably in the dark by feel alone.
I wouldn't count on it. Fingerprints "grow" in response to epigenetic inputs. Even identical twins can have variations in blood/nutrient/oxygen supplies that will have influence on the fingerprints.
My old fashion “combination dial” gun safe is so finnicky that, after a thousand times, I have to try real hard to get it to open.
A kid could NEVER open it.
