Louisiana has become the most recent state to adopt a ban on "Zuckerbucks" — the injection of private money into public election administration — from their elections through a constitutional amendment, following a veto by the Democratic governor over similar legislation.
Voters cast their ballots on Saturday in statewide races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, and state treasurer in addition to deciding on four ballot measures. Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry (R) won the gubernatorial jungle primary election and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser (R) won reelection. The rest of the statewide races are advancing to runoff elections next month.
One of the ballot measures voters were presented with asked whether they supported prohibiting the funding of elections “from a foreign government or a nongovernmental source” unless the secretary of state authorizes funds from policies established by law. Louisiana doesn’t currently have policies that allow for outside funds to be used for administering elections.
A total of 72.6% of voters chose "yes" to ban Zuckerbucks, compared to 27.4% who voted "no."

Now they have spoken loud and clearly. No more Zuckerbucks!
It is scary that over 27% of the voters were against this measure.
It’s bribery. If you or I offered cash to the county clerk for voting policies, we would be arrested.
How would it be enforced, I wonder. Many states blatantly break their own voting laws.
Zuckerberg has all that money and half the country hates his guts. What a loser
and I’ll bet that most of those that hate his guts use facebook and thus give him some of that money ...

So what happens when a Democrat gets in as Secretary of State? My bet is all donations to Democrats and/or their Republican pets will be deemed to be authorized, and all donations to anyone else will be deemed not to be authorized.
Am I missing something here?
Then they are stupid.
I agree ... and by the same logic, so are tv watchers ...
Good, this is one area where I am for punishing billionaires as this is an unfair advantage over the one person one vote philosophy as they gain incredible advantage with their $$$.
Excellent. Need more and stricter election integrity laws and school choice and constitutional carry.
I could handle half the country hating me with that kind of money.
Notice the South going deeper red one state at a time.
Given Louisiana’s economic and educational standing, the new Guv has some work to do.
This is good! And a good start, but I don’t remember ever hearing “This outcome of this election hinges on Louisiana”.
It says, as authorized by law.
So, it is the same problem of who enforces the law against an elected official.
In Maricopa County, Arizona, they did not start the wholesale election shenanigans until after Sheriff Joe Arpaio was defeated, and a Soros type sheriff "elected" in is place.
That’s for the response. That’s what I meant to allude to — exactly what I was thinking.
I meant, “Thanks for the response.”

LOL! No, you don’t. But reliably red states have turned purple then blue just because of actions of the left such as using outside money to influence elections. So, taking preemptive measures to assure that Zuckerbucks do not allow the progressives to gain a foot-hold state-wide in Louisiana is a good move.
Maybe it will spread to other states as well. Louisiana conservatives took a strong stand in the state last week. That is good for the entire nation.
More no evidence.
Well, not just that. They included the policies of single-sourcing election workers from activist mailing lists.
