IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the Israeli military did not strike the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip earlier Tuesday and that the facility was hit by a failed rocket launched by the Islamic Jihad terror organization.
The military says that following an additional review and cross-examination of the operational and intelligence systems, “it is clear that the IDF did not strike the hospital in Gaza.”
“I can confirm that following an analysis of the IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit,” says Hagari in a short video sent by the IDF.
Intelligence points to Islamic Jihad “which is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza,” he says.
Hamas and most Arab nations have blamed Israel for the explosion, which the Hamas terror group said killed some 500 people. The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza later said between 200 and 300 had been killed.
The Israeli military says Gaza-based terror organizations fire rockets indiscriminately toward Israel and about 450 rockets launched toward Israel have fallen inside Gaza since the beginning of the war on October 7, “endangering and harming the lives of Gazan residents.”
Surveillance camera footage shows the moment the rocket launched from the Gaza Strip appears to fall short and explode inside the Palestinian enclave.
Several other videos appear to show the same.
One video, taken from Netiv Haasara, appeared to match footage taken by Al Jazeera, which also showed a rocket misfire land inside Gaza.
Another video, published by Palestinian media outlets, showed the blast at the Ahli Arab Hospital.
The Al Jazeera footage was geolocated by experts on X to the hospital.

I think one of the goals of the Hamas incited war is to separate the US from its allies and bases in the Persian Gulf. I think the narrative that the Israelis targeted and hit the hospital has already been sold to the “Arab street”. Regardless of responsibility for the strike, this is propaganda gold for Iran and its minions. A few hundred Palestinian martyrs is a small price to pay in their holy war.
Agreed. The initial Hamas attack was meant to provoke Israel into the action it’s now taking.
Video evidence, audio evidence (Hamas terrorist recorded talking amongst each other and realizing that they screwed up) and other visual evidence is not enough...
The lamestream media is still calling it... ‘Inconclusive’ evidence.
Apparently, a bunch of terrorist yelling ‘bloody murder on innocents by Israeli’s’ 5 minutes after the explosion happened, is equivalent to the mountain of evidence produced by the IDF.
Odd that Israel got this recording of Hamas operatives, about a bombed hospital, over some sort of encrypted voice protocol, but was not savvy enough to prevent or prepare for the actual attack.
US taxpayers for years have footed the gargantuan bills for Israel’s security......... so that’s no excuse.
Israel made sure Congress is required by law to ensure that U.S. military aid in the Middle East region doesn’t damage Israel’s military superiority over its neighbors. That requirement enjoys broad bipartisan support and has served as a benchmark for ensuring Israel receives robust U.S. support.

Finger pointing is such fun. This after all is the only attack that was not anticipated by the USA, by Israel, by UK etc/s. 9/11 just being one such mass attack.
Save your hate for the people who passed out handbooks on how to kill, rape, torture & capture Israelis and then carried out their plan. The information about this operation was kept secret like those booklets even though there were many many copies.
Legions of attacks are foiled others are not. Fate is fickle and sometimes circumstances seem to conspire. The fog of war is real and things are misinterpreted, sometimes lies are told even by the good guys. In this case the preponderance of evidence and of past behavior, by both players, supports the IDF. Of course Hamas et al does not let their error go to waste and utilizes their polished blame Israel apparatus. Their finger pointing, doctored pictures, shifting facts and lamentations are par for the course. Full of sound & fury and signifying nothing.
Why dont you just lie down, take two aspirins, and call an exorcist.
Your advise comes from the heart I am sure it does because you worked it out as your own best course.
Save your venom. I do not lie down. You comment was vile and I responded kindly x2. If you do not want to receive responses you should not post.
I’m skeptical it was a Hamas missile. We were told they fired 5,000 of their missles into Israel and we saw nothing remotely like a collapsed multi-story building. I’ve read that most of their missiles have the explosive power of about 10 lbs of TNT. And that’s what they look like. They can blow up a car or two, or a shopfront.
Meanwhile; we were just told Israel has multiple generations of American made bunker-busters.
For sure, if Israel did it (even by mistake) they aren’t going to admit it. They are going to lie and obfuscate and create doubt.
If it was done intentionally it is clearly a war crime.
Two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because Hamas and Islamic Jihad committed attrocities in their attack on Israel you don’t get to suddenly wave the laws of war and start massacuring civilians.
That has been addressed.

There are multiple posts & videos on this IDF spokesman’s timeline debunking the suggestion that Hamas & other Jihadist organizations do not have such destructive armament. The destruction of numerous Israeli buildings puts the lie to that premise. There is video of projectiles launched from that area, at that time, showing the spray of many projectiles flying towards Israel and a few failing and returning almost immediately to ground.

Israel has presented much evidence including a statement by two Hamas operatives that the shrapnel found is not c/w Israeli armament videos & further conversation between those Hamas operatives identifying the cemetery behind the hospital from whence that barrage was launched.
Each of us weighs & sums up evidence according to our own lights. Hamas track record speaks loudly to me. The evidence we have of this strike convincingly supports IDF analysis.
No crater at the hospital should be sufficient to prove the hospital was hit by exploding/burning debris.
Palis won’t let the crisis go to waste.
“If it was done intentionally it is clearly a war crime.”
You need to go read the Geneva Conventions. Siting missiles next to a hospital is the war crime. Deliberately putting them there removes any protection it may have had.

According to mooselimbs, their god is just a pimp! Supplying the dead martyrs with fresh whores!
Israel is well within its rights to hang mass murdering Hamas terrorists from the nearest tree. They are unlawful combatants and not subject to the rules of war. Israel would do well to target Hamas’s Jewish genocide partners in Tehran and Moscow, too.
