Republican leadership is not republican. Do not give them your money. Only give it to a proven republican candidate. No PACs. The only way to teach the leadership we are serious is to starve them of money.

Somebody ask Newt again about his endorsement of Dede Scozzafava and if this is another shoot-from-the-hip mouthing off to be relevant in another news cycle.

Check out my tagline. It’s the only thing an honest conservative can do. At bare minimum, 70% of republicans want Jordan. It does not matter to the Uniparty (R). Jordan, just like Trump will not be allowed to rock the boat. Trump was 70+% with rank and file yet the Uniparty (R) ran the coup on him. It will be Republican Judases who, in the end, will be the ones who ambush Trump. It will be the same Republicans who ran the ‘20 coup.

Same old story. Conservatives need to defer to the liberals for the sake of comity. The important thing is to show the people who will never vote for you that you can work with their side.

Gingrich will throw in a free consultation on how to avoid looking bad in a government shutdown confrontation.

For younger FReepers:

The United States federal government shut down from November 14 through November 19, 1995 (5 days), and again from December 16, 1995, to January 6, 1996 (21 days). Republicans threatened not to raise the debt ceiling.
After the 21-day government shutdown , Republicans accepted President Clinton’s budget, as polling showed that many members of the public blamed Republicans for the shutdown.

I think the dems, the NeverTrumpers, swamp dwellers, and the media can find enough repub votes to intentionally deadlock the speakership vote for some time.

Maybe forever, or at least until the repubs are no longer in the majority. What was it, 18 votes until McDaniel finally got it? And the dems and the media were eating it up the whole time. Every story was about how the repubs were weak, in disarray, couldn't govern themselves out of a wet paper bag?

I think that's what Newt's afraid will happen -- it scares me too.

If that's the dems plan, it might be wise if the pro tem has the power to act as Speaker until we get a new one.

Jordan's the man I want in there, but a scant few can keep him out, and there's work to be done NOW.

I'm of the opinion that chaos, indecision and inaction only works in the democrats' favor

That’s how we got Dennis Hastert. Gingrich was forced out and then so was his replacement. So the House GOP turned a seemingly then non controversial placeholder. Except the placeholder remained for 8 years.

Of course he is, Newt might be better suited to go to Gaza and try and talk peace with Hamas.

Draining the Uniparty RINO Swamp IS the people’s business. If you were a man of the people Newt, you’d know that.

Did Newt have a nice sit down on a couch with Nancy Pelosi and promise to sell this “compromise”?

Newt is right, there seems to be no path to 217 votes for Jordan.

Ranting about it is not going to change the simple arthimetic.

The best bet is to let McHenry continue.
