I don’t think non-profit advisory board members get paid. I never have received a nickel from the three boards on which I have served.

We all want good life. But many Republicans are extremely rigid, it is their way or the highway. Whatever happened to Reagan’s rule that if someone is with you on 80% of issues, h/she is not 20% enemy.

“You surely meant these RINO’s who voted with Dems to oust speaker McCarthy?!”

Funny how the moderate (RINO) Pubs are using the exact same tactic of voting with the Dems to keep Jordan from winning the Speaker-ship. And Jordan has always been a conservative in good standing with other Pubs in the House, whereas McCarthy was two-faced, cut deals that passed legislation with the help of Dems, went back on promises and lived (maybe still does) with Dem liberal and gay pollster Frank Luntz (why, it’s like sleeping with the enemy).

I agree.
Many of us Republicans have become so egocentric that we don’t tolerate any kind of subtle variation in opinions. As you said... the “Reagan rule” doesn’t exist anymore. If you are only agreeing to 99% instead of 100% then you are either a “Trumpist” or “Neocon”.

On thing is certain. If “Trumpists” and “Neocons” don’t end up collaborating fully, Democrats will be in power for ever in America.

Time for us Republicans to think about what we want. Are we interested to lead the country again? That will require some compromises among ourselves.

You mean the 8 who finally quit playing the DC Game of #MetoRinosim?

You mean the 8 who kicked of the game of #FrenchThirdRepublicism?

William L. Shirer, author of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, also wrote The Collapse of the Third Republic: An Inquiry into the Fall of France in 1940. The Parliament of France spent its last couple of decades ousting, replacing and/or rotating its leadership every few weeks. Did not prove disastrous, so long as there was no serious danger to the nation, like, say, Hitler, to be dealt with.

Happily, the United States doesn't face any serious dangers at present. Right???

I have finally broken down and watched the show that shall not be named. They robbed Ingtar of his redemption.

“Go, Rand,” Ingtar said. He turned to face the street and did not look at Rand or Hurin again. “Take the Horn where it belongs. I always knew the Amyrlin should have given you the charge. But all I ever wanted was to keep Shienar whole, to keep us from being swept away and forgotten.”

“I know, Ingtar.” Rand drew a deep breath. “The Light shine on you, Lord Ingtar of House Shinowa, and may you shelter in the palm of the Creator’s hand.” He touched Ingtar’s shoulder. “The last embrace of the mother welcome you home.” Hurin gasped.

“Thank you,” Ingtar said softly. A tension seemed to go out of him. For the first time since the night of the Trolloc raid on Fal Dara, he stood as he had when Rand first saw him, confident and relaxed. Content.

Rand tells Hurin to go, cutting off Hurin’s protest by telling him that Lord Ingtar does what he must, but they must go. Hurin accepts this, and the two leave the alley to the sound of Seanchan soldiers approaching where Ingtar stands.
