‘It’s An SOS’: Texas Community Reels As Colony Ridge Expands, Says Development Has ‘Devastated Our Way Of Life’
The Daily Wire ^ | Oct 17, 2023 | Spencer Lindquist

"It went from a very clean, very safe community where everybody knew everybody to, ‘Oh my God, we are invaded.’"

Residents and law enforcement in the immediate area surrounding Colony Ridge, a massive land development that many believe has become a settlement for thousands of illegal immigrants, say their once-beloved community is now unrecognizable, charging that the area now resembles a “third world country.”

Everett Needham says he’s facing the reality that it may be time to leave the area that his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents have all called home. He told The Daily Wire that the Colony Ridge development “has been a disaster from day one.” Needham says the development, which has brought tens of thousands of new residents to his backyard, putting a strain on the area’s schools and law enforcement, “has devastated our way of life,” with the town that several generations of his family have lived in now feeling “like a third world country.”

Residents of Plum Grove, a small town of roughly one thousand residents that’s been swallowed alive by Colony Ridge, say they feel like they’ve been invaded. One resident, who spoke to The Daily Wire on the condition of anonymity citing fears of retaliation, said she now lives in fear.

“We had a really nice, clean, country-atmosphere community. And then we started noticing all the trash in the ditches, you know, and the traffic and the blaring music,” she explained. “It went from a very clean, very safe community where everybody knew everybody to, ‘Oh my God, we are invaded.’ And it’s an SOS. I’m scared to death to leave my house.”

She says she used to go into Colony Ridge to assess the growth of the development, where she saw “tar paper houses,” “shanty houses,” and “old travel trailers that are covered in...

That is so horrible & sad. To have wonderful communities torn apart. Where are the aldermen or supervisors??? Someone dropped the ball & it sounds like it’s too late to get it back.

Notice how “reconquista” is never Spain invading and reclaiming old colonies.

At least the Spanish wouldn’t leave garbage everywhere...

“....now resembles a ‘third world country’.”

Same thing in my suburb of Seattle.

Well, except it is Asians and rich techy Indians.

These people are pigs. When I lived in LA, they would go the the beaches and have huge family picnics. When they were done, they literally dumped all their sh*t on the ground and left. Chicken bones, beer cans, dirty diapers, everything.

Even the lowest class, lowest income Americans know how to put their trash in a trash can.

They’re all going back.

Every one of them. From what I hear, the fema camps will be used for processing.

Whenever stories like this are posted about Los Angeles, Seattle, NYC, etc., red staters will gloat, "They voted for it!"

So much for escaping to red states.

"White flight" has been a thing since the 1970s. Eventually, you run out of places to run.

Well yes, but to be fair, when I was a kid in SoCal in the 1950s there was a beach in Orange County that was known as Tin Can Beach because the whole beach was covered in old beer cans. It got cleaned up in the 60s and is now called Sunset Beach. Weren’t many ‘migrants’ back then.

There are 10,000+ invaders crossing the southern border on a daily basis at this very moment.

By 2025 that number will be a million per month.

The United Nations goal is to import 600,000,000 invaders into the United States by the year 2030.

Exactly where are you going to move to escape them?

There are some here at Free Republic that believe zoning and planning are government overreach. This is what happens when you have crappy zoning laws. Developers don’t care about how they change an area. Sloppy zoning allows totally inappropriate development in areas that cannot handle it.

I have seen it far too many times. High density housing developments plopped into rural or semi rural areas that do not have adequate infrastructure for the dramatic increases in population.

My sister-in-law worked as a substitute teacher in the DFW area. She said Hispanic teachers often bragged on how they “Were taking back Texas, one baby at a time!”

You want to pretend this is about zoning laws, counselor? Seriously?
