NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and his 78-year-old mother were carjacked at gunpoint Monday night (Oct. 16) in New Orleans, his spokesman said.
“OPDA confirms that DA Williams and his 78-year-old mother were carjacked at gunpoint as he was helping her into a car,” office spokesman Keith Lampkin said in response to questions from Fox 8.
“DA Williams and his mother were unharmed and both thank the NOPD for their hard work tonight and every night responding to crime victims.”
No other details of the crime were immediately available. The New Orleans Police Department did not respond to questions about the incident late Monday night or early Tuesday.
Williams and his wife Elizabeth appeared unharmed while discussing the night’s events with NOPD officers outside their home Tuesday around 12:40 a.m.
When asked about the carjacking by a Fox 8 reporter, Williams said only, “It’s been a long night. I’ll get with you in the morning.”
This is a developing story.
Schadenfreude!
Pleasure derived from another person’s misfortune.
As suspected the DA is a low-IQ product of affirmative action so there will be no lesson learned.
1st story I’ve read today and I can easily forecast the BEST story of the day, hands down!
Kind of like the Minnesota councilwoman who was the most vocal supporter of ‘defund the police’ and was violently robbed and carjacked in front of her kids.
That was quite lovely to read about. 🥰
They don’t mind putting others lives in danger but all of a sudden, when the fruits of their labor comes back to bite them, THEN it matters.
Someone needs to track the treatment of 20 other carjacking perps and compare them to how this criminal will be treated.
The D.A.’s office is a revolving door of crime with the specific desire to make the area more under Dem control as taxpayers, facing the high crime and having options, are leaving the area.
That’s what people miss — the lawlessness is by design.
Then, once Dems have super control of a city they control the entire state. Think Philly, Detroit, Chicago, etc.
The criminals are the Brown Shirt troops of the Democrat party.
Here’s an example — 73-year-old woman’s arm ripped off by a carjacking.
Black criminals openly brag that the “not putting another black man in prison” policy means it is open season for them. Look at the looting in major cities.
ALL BY DESIGN.
I’ll second that. It’s going to take stuff like that for them to learn.
Nice to see they are reaping what they sow
Oh no. Anyway..
“It’s Trumps fault..”
Newer vehicles use LED lights.
This makes it easy for criminals to spot higher value newer vehicles.
Satan’s animals need to be put down!!
he was wif his mother?
where was his father?
oh wait.......
Would an Apple Air Tag be a cheap way of tracking the vehicle?
Yep. I’ll bet that the perpetrator has had numerous charges downgraded or dismissed by this DA’s office and that the perp was out on ‘no bail’.
GOOD..! Let them reap the whirlwind..
Someone needs to track the treatment of 20 other carjacking perps and compare them to how this criminal will be treated.
~~~
That’s right. “Now it just got serious!”
Here is what I’ve noticed when a democrat politician get’s carjacked or attacked in a democrat stronghold. They normally don’t come out themselves with overly strong statements, but others in government suddenly start clamoring something to be done, and to be sure that the police are doing everything they can.
This is in strong contrast to the crickets you hear when ordinary plebs are the victims of violence, of course.
It’s appropriate that a Demonicrat be on the receiving end of Demonicrat behavior.
should have said to the perp “don’t you know who I am?” and the perp would have apologized and carjacked someone else
If I were the report writing officer, it would be one crappy report. “ It was man. Yes, man. Big man. Yes, man.” Hat tip to SNL.
