@mkraju
Rep. Don Bacon is still opposed to Jim Jordan as speaker. Told us that he will vote for another candidate tomorrow (wouldn’t say who).
@mkraju
Mario Diaz-Balart just told us he’s still a NO on Jim Jordan.
@MicaSoellnerDC
BUCK says he will meet with Jordan tonight and had three big questions on his mind.
He doesn’t elaborate on his concerns but says he is a “lean NO” at the moment.
@JakeSherman
I just caught up with JIM JORDAN on his way into the closed GOP meeting.
“On Friday when we left, I said if you have concerns, I’d love to hear from you. And we’ve been doing that all weekend. .. that’s exactly how I think you should operate. That’s how we operate our committee. I’ll talk about those things with our colleagues.
DO YOU FEEL GOOD GOING INTO TOMORROW:

Doesn’t work that way. If a moderate (RINO, whatever) won a Biden district easily, there’s almost no chance a really conservative or Trump supporting challenger is a threat in the primary, unless the RINO screws up with a corruption charge against him / her or something. Or, it’s an open primary and the Dems instruct their voters to vote for the Conservative so he / she gets blown up in the General.
Why is it so hard for FReepers to understand that most moderate or slightly left dominated districts, IF they elect a Republican, usually elect a moderate?
I would hope you’d support Jordan anyway, but his position on Ukraine may not be what you think.

Start around 2:35, runs through 3:10.
The real problem is that we don’t have enough good candidates who can actually swing more of the electorate conservative. Instead Republicans rely on Dems wrecking things and then the Pubbies can offer themselves to pick up the pieces when people start feeling the hurt.
I looked at a handful. Biden carrying a district didn’t matter. These seats were won with big margins, and in 2016 and 2018. It’s a safe GOP seat regardless of Biden.
The theory that moderates are required to win safe seats is simply wrong, and mostly because Independents decide those seats.
Independents are not moderates.
They don’t care about the issues that would measure left/right/middle. They have their own priorities, most prominent being drain the Swamp. It is nihilism and too bad, that is the way it is. They consider anyone with a political career to be objects of disgust and contempt, be them left or right.
I do not support anyone who enables the Ukraine.
Maybe Uma Thurman can fix Buck.

They disgust me if they block him.
A distinction with a difference.
I will argue Moderates are many times just uninformed and lazy folk who hide behind the moderate label to maintain self esteem as being relevant Americans
Possible......very possible.
Me, too.
They all need to have their phone and twitter lines melted down.
