Names and faces of Harvard students linked to an anti-Israel statement were plastered on mobile billboards and online sites

New York CNN — A billboard truck drove near Harvard’s campus Wednesday displaying the names and photos of Harvard students whose organizations signed a statement blaming solely Israel for the deadly attacks by Hamas.

The “doxxing truck” appeared days after the Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups, a coalition of Harvard student groups, earlier this week released a statement that held “the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence,” following the attacks by Hamas that have killed more than 1,200 Israelis and more than 25 American citizens. More than 1,400 in Gaza have also been killed since Israel started strikes on Gaza following the deadly Hamas attack.

Some students and their groups have since distanced themselves or withdrawn their endorsements from the statement amid an intense backlash inside and outside of Harvard. Several said they did not read the statement before they signed it.

A conservative nonprofit said it organized the truck featuring the virtual billboards with students’ names and images under a banner that reads: “Harvard’s Leading Antisemites.” It also published names online. CNN has not independently verified that the named students were associated with the letter.

The group’s president said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that the group “is removing the names of students from groups that withdrew but are also adding new names every hour.”

Yes, incredibly bogus that schools would have allowed such anonymous statements from student groups like this.

But the doxxing response will likely be turned around 100-times over against conservative students.

I recall hundreds, if not thousands of leftists protesting outside conservative SCOTUS justices’ Homes.

The woke/neo-marxist left created this world we live in. Now they get a brief, tiny taste of their own medicine.

If the letter signatories had been from university conservative groups, the members’ identities would have already been leaked, along with their photos and home addresses.

The malicious publication of personal information, such as home addresses or phone numbers, has been a tactic used by far-right groups for years to intimidate Palestinian activists and allies into silence, according to a current Harvard student, who is of Palestinian descent, and spoke to CNN on the condition of anonymity.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good ol’ CNN. They print an unverified claim by an anonymous individual about “far-right” doxxing activity but ignore the many cases of verified doxxing by left-wing groups. Earth to CNN — doxxing is a tactic most associated with the left, not conservatives. It’s YOUR people who do that stuff. This is a case of the left getting a taste of its own medicine.
And I’m not sure this really even qualifies as doxxing since it was a public statement signed by people using their actual names.
What’s really got the lefties in a snit here is that it was a clever and effective tactic by the conservative group. It was effective at shaming people who deserved to be shamed for their public speech.
When liberals doxx conservatives, they post names, addresses, phone numbers - whatever information they can find. When conservatives “doxx” liberals, they post names and sometimes images - all information from the public sector.
The basis for the story is a false equivalence.
Ironically, CNN was the one who doxxed the kid who made the Trump rassling the CNN logo and threatened to ruin his life.
As much as I hate their position on Hamas, I am against efforts to stifle free speech and doxing. Those are the tactics of the left.
“Several said they did not read the statement before they signed it.”
That merely means that the ones carrying the statement were nonwhite and the whites did not want to be accused of being racist...
They signed their names. There was no expectation of privacy. When a man signs his name, he has made a statement his, or words to that effect from Arthur Miller’s Crucible.
I just read a thread on FR within the last week about a Jonathan Turkey article that stated 80% of the grades given at Harvard are in the A range. Wow.
And this is how some of the "professors" suggest the issue be solved: "...Romance languages and literatures Professor Annabel Kim suggested the “abolition of grading” and the institution of “narrative-based” evaluations..."
Just Wow.
