I am not certain that Iran would take such a risk. They are true cowards and use others (Hamas) to do their dirty work. If they do have the capability and use it, who would be implicated? Think about it.
What was supplying the Palestinians with vast quantities of missiles, small arms, finances, planning, etc. they used in their attack? Seems like “intervening” already happened.
Israel is likely to put some payback on Iran, but would prefer to deal with the problem in its back yard first. If Iran wants to do something else stupid to push up the schedule, I guess they’ll just have to see how it turns out. Iran’s concentrated oil refining, distribution, and export infrastructure can be mostly eliminated in a few days, crippling its economy and ability to wage war, feed its people, etc. Maybe that would topple the theocracy.
The late ISIS head Zarqawi reportedly spent some time in Russia, too.
Hezbollah likely has around 130,000 rockets. Taking most of those out before they can be fired is going to require a huge & costly effort. But, what alternative does Israel have? (For certain, Israel cannot come even close to matching those numbers, much less firing 100x back!)

Actually, I think that Iran is going to find that Israel has had well thought out plans for attacking Iran. When the Republican Guard panics, I expect that Iran not Israel will release the first “nuclear weapon.”
I would anticipate that it will be a “dirty bomb” or maybe a low yield nuclear fission bomb. If that happens the genie will be “out of the bottle.” By that I mean, that while the world political leaders will demand a ceasefire, I expect that Israel will respond with several nuclear weapons and possibly even the USA may respond in kind. I also anticipate that Iran is hoping to attache the US Navy Gerald Ford carrier task force that has been sent to the region.
Putin tried a month ago to equate depleted uranium artillery shells to “nuclear weapons.” That was utter B.S. and Most of the world understands that.
If Iran actually uses dirty radioactive fallout weapons or even a low yield nuclear bomb, I think the world community will understand that Israel was provoked to retaliate in kind. It will be in interesting moment in world history.

Nope. I think under the scenario you have described it would bring us directly at war with the parties mentioned and perhaps with Iran as well.
