I didn’t hate him at the outset, just was willing to listen to his ideas and see if he could be my 2nd best after Trump.

In Pat Buchanan’s book The Greatest Comeback: How Richard Nixon Rose from Defeat to Create the New Majority he detailed how Nixon set aside his shortcomings and sincerely did everything he could to promote and support his many rivals in the GOP. He made friends and some people later owed him favors. Reagan backed him. From refraining from cutting down those who belittled him he actually got the GOP nomination and won two terms.

That is the path for the rivals of Trump. If he goes to prison or gets assassinated (God forbid) we need these minor leaguer backups.

Also, vying to be VP is important. The terrible trashing and badmouthing eliminates possibilities and leads America to having lousy VPs in many elections. Actually Harris badmouthed Biden before she was forced out of the election by no more donations and getting 5% popularity in polls. Lucky she was a black woman on the checklist. Too bad for us she could be Prez.

Why, because he dared to finally say something negative about Trump after months of Trump going negative on him? Not buying it. He'll be fine - he's the most conservative governor of any state, and he's done a great job in FL. He might not get the GOP nomination in 2024 (though we still haven't seen a primary vote take place) but that means nothing for 2028 or beyond.
