@RepThomasMassie
Enough of the secret elections behind closed doors!
Jim Jordan has called for a public Speaker vote by roll call on CSPAN Tuesday.
I support Jim Jordan. Does your congressman? You’d better ask, because there were about 50 who voted against him on the secret ballot.
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
I take it we go to the floor then....
Good move. He should have made it for Monday but Tue is Ok. Make the rino’s sweat.
Jordan is toast.
No chance to win on the floor.
We will get names
The late entry —Austin Scott (?) received 81 votes in the secret ballot but now supports Jordan. If his peeps follow, that should do it in the floor vote.
Jordan is known as a Trump supporter, so a public vote would ID Trump haters.
Jordan is toast.“
He must know there is s group of Cheney’s there, this will expose them.
Try mail in Banana ballots I tell ya! It’s the only thing that works in a fully dempanic communist world run by muslim terrorists!
You read other things beside oryx? Who knew.
And primary them.
Now you’re going to have those 50 RINOs try to dictate terms to what was the GOP conservative majority all along lofl. Welcome Speaker Jim.
The longer this goes on, the worse it will get on the PR front for the Republicans. The Dems will say that the GOP can’t even decide who the Speaker will be, how can they be responsible enough to remain in control for 2024.
Because secret ballots only happen in dictatorships, right?
Oh wait…never mind.
Sometimes doing nothing is better than having congress do anything.
I believe it was always supposed to be a roll call.
“Dems will say that the GOP can’t even decide who the Speaker will be, how can they be responsible enough to remain in control for 2024.”
My personal observation since 1998 has been the Republicans in the House cannot govern effectively in the majority and when in the minority seem satisfied to complain they can’t do anything because the Dems are in power. In contrast, particularly under Pelosi, the Dems are 100% united and aggressive when in power and 100% united and aggressive when in the minority. They are extremely effective achieving their goals in power and in the minority.
In truth the Republican caucus is two parties at war with each other while the Democrats are one unified party.

15 votes were taken before McCarthy made it.
Jordan being passed over will make the GOP look bad to the public.
Image will be Pelosi types strong, GOP weak and in disarray.
And all the hourly news beginning with “Jordan, with ties to Donald Trump, lost.”
No one cares. The GOP in the House will either win or lose due to Trump in 2024.
Does he get to decide?
Or is there a committee? Mchenry?
Like really, who decides when? Anyone know?
Good points.
Rush used to say that.
He also said the GOP (of his day) liked the easygoing life of being losers always in the minority. No adult responsibilities.
But when in leadership role they split up into factions and got criticized so wanted to retreat.
Dems always loved being in power and “acted like they were in power when they weren’t.”
I saw Rush was right about that many times.
