$1 billion for hydrogen hub coming to Michigan

LANSING, MI – A whole lot of hydrogen is coming.

Michigan was tapped by federal energy regulators to build a new clean hydrogen hub and develop regional supply chains for the fuel source. The goal is to create a market for fueling trucks and heavy-duty vehicles with clean hydrogen, which comes without any tailpipe emissions.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced $1 billion in federal funding for the project by Midwest Alliance for Clean Hydrogen, known as MachH2. She said it would bring thousands of jobs to Michigan.

A whole lot of hydrogen is coming. Michigan was tapped by federal energy regulators to build a new clean hydrogen hub and develop regional supply chains for the fuel source.

They call themselves journalists, but cannot write English. When I read tapped by federal energy regulators I understand something different. I know what they mean because I still have my Little Orphan Annie decoder ring, but it certainly can be written using clear and meaning English. Allow me to edit.

A whole lot of hydrogen forcibly confiscated tax dollars is are coming. Michigan was tapped by federal energy regulators chosen by federal unelected wealth redistributors to build a new clean hydrogen hub another unneeded green energy project that will fail and develop destroy existing regional supply chains for the fuel source in which there are no current uses.

By the way. I stopped reading right there. When anyone begins an article with multiple lies, the rest of the article is not worth reading.

The only "green" way to make hydrogen ( H2 ) from water ( H2O ) is to use electricity generated from a NUCLEAR or Hydro power plant.

Plant is planned for Ypsilanti which is west of Detroit. Seems to me it’d be smarter to try build off a waterway such as the St Clair River to take advantage of shipping.

I did a cursory check on recent FR postings and there were a number of similar fed projects, no doubt this was part of the Xiden/Pelosi/McConnell spending hoax that was instrumental in the inflation we have seen recently, there is no money to pay for it so they printed it and went on the federal debt of course.

It’s a farce, have lived in that area for most of my life - it’s for trucks that haven’t been built yet and international ships on the Detroit River. Part of the fraudulent climate bill apparently.

Ah, yes. How COULD I have forgotten "shovel ready" jobs. The only people who made money on that ridiculous scam were the sign-makers. Those signs sprouted like weeds after a summer rain all over the country. It was like seeing fresh piles of day-glow orange dog crap all over the countryside.

What will the effect be to the atmosphere, what about the water being depleted? Won’t it make the atmosphere more oxygen rich?

Hydrogen cannot combustion without oxygen. So, yes, either in air or some other oxygen source.

If air, then why no oxides of Nitrogen?

You’re correct. There are minor amounts of other gasses produced such as NO2. This reaction is hardly zero emission.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_internal_combustion_engine_vehicle

2H2 + O2 → 2H2O
However, air is a mixture of gases, and the most abundant gas in air is nitrogen. Therefore, the combustion of hydrogen in air produces oxides of nitrogen, known as NOx. In this respect, the combustion process is much like other high temperature combustion fuels, such as kerosene, gasoline, diesel or natural gas. This problem is exascerbated by the very high temperatures generated by the combustion of hydrogen.[35] As such hydrogen combustion engines are not considered zero emission.

That's one massive list of companies (74, I counted 2x so if I got it wrong then I did it wrong twice.) that have no shortage of $$$$$ already and "the goobermint" is going to give them 1 Billion Dollars of Your and My Money. And I see there's quite a few in the State of the zer0 (Illinois), kinda makes One wonder...

$1,000,000,000.00/74=$13,513,513.51 EACH.

ADL Ventures is a venture1 consultancy that rebuilds and energizes a clean and vibrant world. We rewrite the rules of engagement between new ventures, legacy2 organizations and governments to advance business model innovation and new venture creation in climate-tech and infrastructure.

(1) an undertaking involving chance, risk, or danger especially : a speculative business enterprise

(2) In its basic meaning, a legacy is a gift of money or other personal property that's granted by the terms of a will—often a substantial gift that needs to be properly managed. But the word is used much more broadly as well. So, for instance, much of Western civilization—law, philosophy, aesthetics— could be called the undying legacy of ancient Greece. And the rights and opportunities that women enjoy today are partly the legacy of the early suffragists and feminists.

What could possibly go wrong ???
